My Wife and I looked at the menu online, thought that this could be our new burrito spot but were very disappointed by the food. It doesn't taste bad (still haven't decided if I'll even finish half of it) it just doesn't taste like anything. My Super Monster burrito was huge, but was 90% rice and beans. I felt crazy thinking, "well sometimes the meat gets bunched up in one part of the burrito, it happens" but I literally cut up the burrito and only found tiny bits of chicken very sparsely spread out. I then remembered I got guacamole added on, but it was hard to find when the tiny bits of shredded lettuce were equally as tasty as the guac, and there may have been half a dollop of guac for this giant burrito. The corn stands out as the only thing that was enjoyable, but only because I know I won't be able to digest the corn and it will just pass right through me. Way too expensive and a complete rip off, I don't write negative reviews often but stay away from this place. I doubt it's the staff, and it's probably just company policy that soul-lessly churn out giant burritos of rice and beans, but do not waste your money here. There's a Chipotle a couple blocks away, its pretty good (not perfect), but at least there is a flavor and is affordable. Only go here and give your money to Freebirds World Burrito if you want to buy the miserable shell of a tortilla housing rice and...
Read moreThe burrito was delicious as always but 1) apparently Freebirds is keeping their sauces behind the counter forever now (obviously liked saving $$ during Covid too much by not providing sauces in the lobby so this is just how it is now). 2) A monster with chicken & a small drink costs $18 now. 3) Freebirds (unlike Chipotle) expects their customers to tip employees for counter service. So much that it’s an automatic question for every single customer that uses a card and you are made to feel like a cheapskate if you do not tip the employee staring at you while you swipe your card. It’s not enough that a burrito & small drink costs $18, we need to also tip their employees for doing their job. Reluctantly, I did tip the guy so my lunch was $19 and some change for a burrito and small drink. These are NOT restaurant employees working for $2 an hour. It’s counter service. Is Freebirds underpaying their employees?? Why does Freebirds expect their customers to supplement their employees pay??
I’m an Aggie and going to Freebirds used to be somewhat of a tradition, but sadly I will not be going back. Its just not worth the money when there is a chipotle around every corner at nearly half...
Read moreTried placing my order online but kept getting an error message. Went to the Irving location, they were very busy and only had 2 staff members working behind the counter, the lady preparing the orders was extremely irritated and rushed you thru placing your order so I missed several things I had wanted on my bowl. The young man taking your payment was nice that is unfortunately the only good experience. Got back to my office ready to eat, no utensils or napkins. I think their online ordering is a scam, offers you discounts but unfortunately will not apply to your order. I ordered a bowl and a large queso and chips, their site offered 3.00 off your online order when I first started placing my order, then as I was ordering, was offered buy one, get one half off, neither would apply to my order. Also offered a free queso and chips for signing up also could not get that offer to apply either. I believe the offers are fake and just a lure to get you to put in your personal information. Would not recommend ordering here especially on your lunch hour, or putting in your personal information. The food would have been okay if I had been able to place my...
