THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! After being lied to at Issaquah's Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory & having to drive quite a ways while sitting in traffic to get some chocolate covered strawberries for a very special occasion. I had even made sure to call and ask for before making the trip to Issaquah just to be told when I got to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory that they don't have them was beyond irritating/frustrating not to mention very disappointing. Anyhow I gave Boehms Candies a call & the owner as well as his employees were Terrific!!! They do not even have chocolate covered strawberries but he knew how important it was for me to have them for my special occasion so he said if I bought the strawberries and brought them to him, that he would make them for me. So I bought the strawberries and brought them in and he had already had the chocolate covered strawberries ready for me to save me time so that I wouldn't have to wait for him to make them. He even used his own strawberries that he was using for his own special occasion. & just used the ones I bought to replenish his. 6 milk chocolate & 6 white chocolate just like I had requested. He had them all professionally packed for me in some decorative cases. Than he was only going to charge me $15 for a dozen chocolate covered strawberries when I normally pay close to $50 at the Pike Place Market Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Than on top of that he subtracted the price of the strawberries that I had purchased from the total. So I ended up paying less than $15. Than on top of that he gave me a free ice pack to keep my Chocolate Covered Strawberries fresh while I was travelling to my special occasion. Wonderful Business with Wonderful customer service & Wonderful people working there. All were smiling & pleasant to deal with! Will be going back for all my chocolate/candy needs! Now That's how it's done Issaquah Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! You should take lessons from Boehms Candies. Thank...
Read moreWhen driving out here, at some point all the buildings around me started to get older and older. Then I saw the chocolate shop. Talk about moving back a few centuries! Lol
It was very small inside but very busy! Tons of chocolates everywhere! With all the people inside, I thought it would take forever to get a chance to purchase anything but within seconds, a young lady dressed in a old fashion Swedish outfit asked if I needed anything.
Being part of yelp elite, she gave me a tour of upstairs which one lived an amazing human being that seemed super human.
It was interesting. The chocolates were delicious by the way.
The only bad part of my visit was exiting the road. I have never been in this area and was unfamiliar with it. I thought it was a two lane road and didn't know it was a spilt highway. In front of me looked like a parking lot because I saw cars parked. So I turned left and soon as I did, I saw a "Do not enter" sign and hurried into the nearest parking lot. Thank goodness no cars were on the road and I was quite panicked.
I probably will NEVER visited again because that was terrifying I was driving on the wrong side of the road for a few seconds. I emailed the city about it so hopefully they can fix that and add bigger signs and help new residents that do not know...

The chocolates are heavenly & the chocolate ice cream bar with nuts is out of this world!
A hidden treasure in Issaquah which Julius Boehm started in 1956. You can see the Boehm's candies lighted sign post as you go past in i-90 post exit 17. You are greeted with an old rustic cottage which acts as a storefront with Edelweiss Chalet on the first floor.
The Chalet is a collection of Boehm's memories including a replica of the Olympic torch he carried, being one of the oldest persons to climb Mount Rainier, many paintings & artifacts you usually find in Italy including a replica of "The David!". The Kitchen, Living Room and other rooms are filled with wooden cabinets/woodwork which hide the music player, refrigerator from plain sight. There is also a metallic music player which still plays delightful music!
The chocolate factory which is behind the cottage where you can see live chocolate making through the glass windows. Bought an assorted fruit dark chocolates and they were heavenly! The chocolates & their fruit flavor were just perfect sugar content to my delight and just melts in the mouth!
Book your tours online or just go to taste these amazing local chocolates! you can see their sign from i90...
