Saturday, 11/16/19 I stopped in at the Lazy Boy Store in Issaquah, WA to shop for a queen size sofa bed. Olga showed me several selections on the floor. When we walked over to The Dixie sofa, I knew this was the one I wanted. I requested Olga write up a rough estimate on how much the item would cost. I asked Olga if there was a Veteran Discount and she told me it was 5%, with military papers. I said OK, I will bring my husband back with me to the store when I returned to order the sofa.
Later that same day at home I found the Lazy Boy Coupon card sent to me in the mail, for the Veteranâs Day Sale. It was 30% off any custom order PLUS an additional 15% off coupon. The 15% off coupon did not specify any specifics as to what it could or could not be used for; it just said it was âPLUS AN ADDITIONAL 15% OFF COUPONâ. I went online to the Lazy Boy website and found âthe Dixieâ queen size sofa bed. It was on sale for $1,439.00 for the solid colors, marked down from $1919.00; a $480 savings. I printed out all the information on âthe Dixieâ as the website gave the option to go see the sofa in the store.
I decided to take my husband John with me back to the store on 11/17/19 so I could get the sale price, the coupon discounts, and the 5% military discount; we are retired on a fixed income so I need to be thrifty.
Olga Para was there to greet both John and me. Olga is a great sales person with a vibrant personality and great energy. Olga is very knowledgeable about the Lazy Boy products.
We walked over to âthe Dixieâ and I asked Olga if she would not mind getting the color swabs so we could decide on the color to order. Olga graciously went and retrieved the color swabs for us. Olga showed us how to open the color squares so we could see a larger patch of color against the pepper color on the floor. We decided on the pepper color. Once the color was decided, I said we should go sit at a table so we could write up the order.
On the way over to the table and the computer we stopped briefly so John could give Olga his wallet size military document, for the 5% military discount. After all, it was a Veteranâs Day Sale. Olga took the military document over to her store manager Daniel Batchelor to discuss the discount. Olga also took the website sheet I printed out, and the mailer card coupons I had, with her to discuss with her manager. Olga came back and said her manager could not allow us the 5% military discount in addition to the private sale 30% discount, the card we received in the mail. Olga further advised us manager Daniel Batchelor told her âadditional 15% off couponâ was for buying anything off the floor, so it could not be included in our order. John and I advised Olga to bring this up in the next staff meeting as the âPLUS additional 15% couponâ did not list any restrictions on the mailer card itself, like other store coupons typically do, i.e, Fred Meyers; Kohls; etc.
Anyways, we still wanted the queen size sleeper sofa so we ordered it. The final price came to $1,832.02, with the PRO-Care fabric protection; delivery; and taxes.
If I was to rate Olga Paraâs overall performance it would be a 9.9 Stars out of 10 Stars. If I was to go back and order something else from this Lazy Boy store in Issaquah, I would ask to see Olga Para again to assist me, because of her extensive Lazy Boy product knowledge and vibrant personality.
If I was to rate the Lazy Boy corporation, in regards to this buy and the mailer coupon of 30% discount âPLUS AN ADDITIONAL 15% DISCOUNTâ, and a 5% military discount, then I would rate as 3 stars out of 5 stars total.
So, why am I writing this note? People at Lazy Boy corporation, it was a Veteransâ Day Sale. If you have a Veteransâ discount of 5%, you should give it to the veteran buying the item, such as us. Also, if the Private Invite on the mailer card says there is an âADDITIONAL 15% OFFâ, then all Lazy Boy stores should honor that as well.
The 3 stars is for the Lazy Boy corporation. Olga gets 9.9 stars out of an overall 10...
Read moreLove our couch but will never go through the Issaquah store again! Iâll start by saying the purchasing experience was great. We had a great time designing our sectional in the showroom and it was even built and delivered quicker than originally quoted. We customized a sectional and it came exactly as designed.
But the delivery experience was one of the worst Iâve ever experienced. It wasnât made clear to us when we purchased that delivery was going to be handed off to a third party. The three men that showed up explicitly said they had no experience with a couch delivery and when they realized it needed to be put together didnât have tools and needed to borrow. One guy even started complaining to me about how they donât get paid extra for this and they were going to be late for their next delivery because of me so I had to show them my paperwork that said it would be put together. They also never took shoes off and tracked dirt into my home and banged up the door bringing it in to the point of needing repair and paint. The real tipping point was one of the pieces was manufactured wrong and wonât lock together. They said their was nothing they could do so they left.
I immediately followed up with our sales associate Raymundo who was very responsive right away asking for pictures of the damage to my door, assuring me they would be contacting the delivery company and letting me know they could get someone out to fix the manufacturing defect. I replied on 12/3 saying yes to everything. On 1/11 I emailed again asking for a follow up on when someone would be out to fix the defect and still today on 5/28 have never heard back. I called customer service and they assured me they would pass along my name and number to the manager and that did nothing as well.
So to sum up the couch is wonderful and comfortable but it could not have been a worse experience after delivery. Feels like once they got their money it didnât matter they couch...
Read moreMy family drove over 2 hours to the Issaquah Home Furnishings store with the intent on deciding between the James and Trouper sectionals. Bruno Meza assisted us through the entire process. Not only was he very kind, but he was also incredibly patient and wonderfully knowledgeable. He took the time to listen as I talked through my thought process, many times, even repeating myself. I had one photo I had taken of the room we intend to furnish and he looked over it with me as I explained the dimensions and limitations we face. Any time I had a question that he did not have a precise answer for, such as specific dimensions, he took the time to retrieve the info. As I talked through what we wanted we changed our minds and moved on to recliners. Without skipping a beat Bruno walked us over to the recliners and assisted us there with perfect product knowledge and patience. Our oldest daughter was struggling with her decision so we decided to leave and get some food. When we came back we decided on the James electric loveseat and 2 Randell manual recliners as this satisfied what each of us wanted. Never once was Bruno impatient or frustrated with us changing our minds. In fact, he was also upbeat and enthusiastic. We also greatly appreciated the fact Bruno didnât try to force any conversation with my husband but rather spoke with me, until my husband directly asked him questions. My husband hates dealing with salespeople and prefers me to conversate since Iâm the one who does the research. Bruno was able to âread the roomâ and it made for a very seamless experience for us. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for furniture to seek out Bruno Meza at the Issaquah location for a pain free...
