DICK'S Sporting Goods — Local services in Jackson

I have no issues with the products sold here but the young employees hired to interact with the customers need to be trained better in appropriate activities during less busy times. The young ladies that were working the register appeared to be more interested in trying on items they were considering buying themselves than helping us track down an online pick-up purchase we had made. When my husband and I suggested a solution to speed or departure from the store, since we were now late to our next designation, we were told by the same young ladies that it simply wouldn't work. No attempt was made to contact a manager and no other solutions we attempted either. The manager did make a small effort to appease our frustrations by offering a discount but we had already paid for the items ordered and had lost any interest in purchasing the other items we found in the store. My husband and I have both worked in many levels of customer service and think it should be taken a little more seriously than the young ladies employed here did. I don't think the customer is always right but that issue should be handled by a manager not the cashier. On November 13, 2020, we stopped in looking for a pair of softball cleats for my daughter for her upcoming game on Saturday November 14th. We were particularly looking for a pair of solid white Nike cleats......there were none on the shelf......we had settled on another pair and brand, white and grey, when Ashley came over to help. We had made mention of what we were initially looking for and she said what about some solid white Nike's, I think we have some in the back!!! Well stocked, not well staffed, prices a bit on the high side. * As of February 28 2018, I will no longer shop at this store, owing to it's totally stupid, useless and reactionary decision to end the sale of the over-hyped AR-15 SPORTS Rifle. This political Anti-NRA motivated "infringement" of the 2nd Amendment is just a part of the move on the part of Corporate to move left, just to make it seem, to exactly who I don't really know, that it is solving a problem of "inanimate objects" killing people.
