We planned a weekend in Jackson NH area around a trip to Nestlenook. Unfortunately we we’re very disappointed with our experience tonight. We booked a private sleigh ride for 4 that was supposed to include apple cider & blankets. We expected to spend several hours here ice skating, having something to eat at the food truck, sleigh ride, roasting marshmallows ect. Unfortunately our experience is nothing like the website advertises. The ice skating was closed which I know is out of their control but it was just another let down for the kids, the food truck was closed and the sleigh ride that we paid $200 for was only 20 minutes long and we did not get blankets! The kids were freezing! We did mention all of this to the staff working at the counter and they said that they do not have blankets this year and it’s on their website. It was not on their website. I checked while we were still in the office and there wasn’t anything on the website mentioning no blankets, I brought the website up again when we got back to our room and there was a disclaimer added that their will be no blankets this year. That is just shady. They never offered us a any type of refund or discount. There are several other places that have sleigh rides in the area that run an entire hour and are the same price. The reason we choose Nestlenook over the other places was for the other activities they offer. To drive 3 hours for a weekend with the kids and this be the highlight of the weekend was very disappointing. Women in the office provided poor customer service and did not seem to care about our poor experience. On a positive note then property is beautiful and the horses look happy...
Read moreOkay THIS is an absolutely magical place. The horses are gorgeous, the huge frozen ice skating pond is amazing, and the whole place is just stunning against the white snow. We walked here from The Wentworth to see about getting a sleigh ride sometime that weekend. We arrived a little before dusk and reserved a time for that evening but took pics while we were there. I HIGHLY recommend coming at dusk and taking pics and then taking a ride at dusk or just after when the lighting produces nice pics but it's dark enough that you can still enjoy the lights. I wish I could comment on ice skating but my friend didn't want to so we just stuck to the carriage ride. When you arrive, you can check in at the desk inside and get popcorn and hot apple cider. There is a food truck onsite and you can also buy smores kits to use at the multiple fire pits. There is also a little...indoor gazebo? It has a fireplace and seating around it and is warm and toasty. They stopped providing the fur blankets with covid so I highly recommend bringing one. We grabbed the extra blanket from our hotel room and what a difference that made! Our ride was at 8:30 and they were running 10 or so minutes behind and it was chilly. The whole place is relaxed and laid back back. No one yelled at us for walking beside the paths that the horses rode on and they let you pet the horses afterward. Our guide was great! Bring a little money for a tip, they work extra hard to make the trip interesting. You can walk around and look at all the neat garden statues and sculptures. Very cool. Such a beautiful property and super reasonably priced in my opinion. I...
