We came here due to the hotel where the wedding we were attending was filled up and was searching for a mid-tier option. The hotel was overvalued for the price we paid ($184/night) in the Victorian Room.
Cleanliness: 1/5 Our towels were dirty, there were gnats in the bathroom, the cushions on the chairs were dirty, and there were spider webs on the items around the room.
Room Design: 4/5 It is a large room that was very quiet despite multiple other customers staying at the same time. The bed was also very comfy. Unfortunately, it does suffer from being generally outdated in terms of the wallpaper. The A/C unit in our room had a mind if it's own. Both nights, we set it at 65. The first night, it would turn on for a few minutes and shut off. The second night, it stayed on the entire night.
Customer Service: N/A It wouldn't be right to give it 1/5, but I never saw one staff member the entire time I was there. I can definitely say this is a first timer in all my travels.
Amenities: N/A I didn't get a chance to eat the breakfast.
Value: 1/5 For the amount of money, we got very little value in my stay. The big problem with out stay has a lot to do with the lack of any maintenance with the facilities and cleanliness. It might speak to how skinflint the owner might be. The difference between this being a 2/5 vs 3-4/5 stay are very simple fixes. We're not talking about expensive items that would cost the inn much of an investment. To be clear, these are not issues that occurred because of COVID. For instance, paint was peeling everywhere in our room that was evident it had not been maintained since before COVID. This is an easy fix that costs less than $40 for a gallon of paint and paint brushes. Towels being dirty can easily be fixed by washing them. Spiderwebs on items similarly just need to be swept off. Our toilet seat wasn't properly screwed on and would come off when we got up, this is a matter of getting an appropriate screw for the seat. I realize that typically rooms are cheaper, but these are very basic items that can be addressed with very little additional cost to the owner. Having anyone be available would have made a big difference. We would have addressed these issues with a staff member while we were there, but we couldn't find anyone. When we called, no one would pick up either. Also, the survey they send after your stay doesn't...
Read moreThe Inn at Jackson is a traditional bed and breakfast that offers a quiet, private experience. There was no one at the front desk during check-in, but the key and instructions were left for us, which was convenient and allowed us to settle in right away. This level of privacy continued throughout our stay, making it feel like we had the entire place to ourselves, which was exactly the type of escape we were looking for.
Our room was spacious, but as other reviews mention, it was definitely outdated. The decor, particularly the four-poster bed, didn’t match the look shown on their website. Although the bed was comfortable, it looked flimsy and in need of replacement. The room could benefit greatly from simple upgrades like a fresh coat of paint, better lighting, and more appealing furniture to make it feel less worn. The shower was also disappointing; while vintage plumbing might be expected in an older building, a better showerhead would have made a big difference.
Breakfast, included in the stay, was decent but nothing exceptional. The breakfast staff were polite and courteous, and the food was a nice addition, though not particularly memorable. The lack of staff throughout the rest of the day gave the inn a peaceful atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy the beautifully decorated common areas, like the sitting room where we spent an evening with a bottle of wine.
The outdoor hot tub was a fantastic amenity, offering beautiful views of the mountains, which made for a relaxing experience on a cool day. On our final night, we sat by the fire pit on the Adirondack chairs, sharing a bottle of wine under the stars. This setup really added to the sense of seclusion and made these moments feel unique.
While we didn’t see much of the innkeeper, Cassie, she was very responsive via text and ensured any requests we had were promptly addressed. She made sure everything we needed was available, even if she wasn’t physically around.
Overall, The Inn at Jackson offers a peaceful, self-guided retreat in a beautiful location. The biggest drawback was the outdated decor and functionality of the room, but with a bit of investment in updates, it could easily become one of the best spots to stay in Jackson. For those seeking a quiet, uninterrupted getaway, this inn has a...
Read moreThis is the kind of place that makes you say "can we stay another day?" It is such a wonderful respite here in the mountains. Michele and the staff are great, they surprised us with flowers and a card for our anniversary (super sweet gesture) and she helped us solve our dinner debacle for our anniversary meal. ❤️
We chose the Matthew Thornton room aka the Treehouse, and it's the coziest and most comfortable room. We love the charm of the winding entrance and just the overall feel of it, like sometimes a place doesn't feel comfortable? Not here. Almost immediately we felt at home! It is a private room to it never felt like we were disturbing other guests and the natural lighting is superb. Last night I got a special treat of seeing the Full Moon peak through and shed its light through the blinds. We love the skylight over the bed! Waking up and seeing the trees is a magical feeling. ✨️
Oh, and breakfast! It's so good! Their pancakes are fantastic! My fiancé enjoyed his choice of scrambled eggs. ETA: this morning (9/1) we enjoyed an egg scramble with tomatoes and mozzarella as well as French toast.
Lastly, you can't beat this location. From the inn you can walk to Ravenwood (recommended!) as well as Flossies (also recommended!) There's a small trail that goes by the river and the town is fairly easy to travel by foot. Overall we love Jackson and we look forward to spending more time here in the future, especially now that we have found such a delightful place to stay!
Thank you Michele and staff! 🙏🏻 We absolutely fell in love with this inn and are already planning a fall return trip. 🍁🍂 We also look forward to coming back up in the winter for...
