Ignore any bad reviews that you see for this place. This isn't the Hilton. This is a really great budget-friendly place to stay. If you're in the area, chances are that you are skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, or some other outdoor adventure, so you really just need a place to sleep and wash up. This inn is exactly that. The rooms were clean. We got a room with a balcony, overlooking the Ellis River. There is a big coat rack as soon as you enter the room, which I thought was great! The bathroom is just a plain bathroom. Nothing special, but it's all that you need. The beds were fine, and plenty of warm covers. The heat works well; unsure about the A/C. It was plenty cold when we visited. The Inn is in close proximity to North Conway (about 10 minute drive). Also close to "The Kank" which was an amazing drive during winter, just be prepared. Snow tires, AWD, etc. The service was great. The lobby is like a comfortable living room with couches, a TV, and a faux fireplace. There were coffee and Hot chocolate K-Cups available, as well as Bagels, Bananas, Apples, waters in the lobby, as well as an ice machine. The place has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If we needed anything, it was brought to us quickly. The restaurant across the street is great, and very convenient, and there are great shops and restaurants right down the road in the Jackson Village. All in all, I would stay here again, and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a budget-friendly place to sleep that I'd nearby to all the great attractions.

This motel is in an amazing location. It has tidy rooms with furniture that is somewhat dated, but because this isn't your standard hotel chain and literally a mom-and-pop inn, I expected that. Our room had a big patio with a beautiful view - look at the picture I included with the review. The staff is not always readily available at the front desk, but they can always be reached via phone. The TV in the room was a smart TV to which we could link our Netflix and Prime accounts. The breakfast is pretty basic, but this place is considerably cheaper than other options nearby. Across the street is the best restaurant, the Red Fox Bar and Grille. It is so relaxing to wake up to a river view and walk across the street for an old-school grand breakfast buffet for only $10 before heading out for the NH adventures. Be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner!

Stay during the week with the wife. First there is no pool like the pictures show and in the description. However the service we received was great, it’s a nice location with a river and burn pit outback. The bathroom we found very nice great water pressure and plenty of hot water for us. The room was nice but I’m guessing from late 70’s . Room was clean except for some dog hair that was left on that we didn’t use. The outside of the building needs some love, ( paint, clean up , etc) for the price this time of year in the North Conway area was a good deal.

False advertising. Photos you see online are edited and enhanced to make the place look much nicer than it really is. Rude owners. If you haven't had an experience with these people, do read the owners' response to other reviews. Insulting a customer and back talking them like an angry child is no way to do business.

Edit: Would like to restate previous concerns and add onto this to better make my point.

My response, to the owners response to a complaint. "Normal people don't read reviews," is absolutely nonsense. Those who travel often and especially ones who have had experiences at places like this one DO read reviews because of people and places like this! Responding to a mother's complaint and telling her she is a bad parent... Very unprofessional. Also "People who have good experiences don't leave reviews." That is false. Plenty of us make it a point to leave a great review where it belongs.

I would also like to let you know my personal experience. My great aunt and uncle made a reservation here a couple summers ago for four people. The previous hotel they had called had told them they did not have a room big enough, and this place was the last option. So, the reservation here was made. All of an hour later the previous hotel had called back with a cancellation and my great aunt and uncle took this option because it was the place they typically stayed. Not long at all after they called this location back to cancel. It was only a matter of 3-4 hours later. They were denied a refund and told they could have a "credit for a future stay." So, this place ended up taking to my knowledge $650-700 from my aunt and uncle and being very unkind over the phone. After investigating deeper they chose not to stay here and use the "credit" due to POLICE REPORTS from multiple guests and multiple reviews warning patrons to stay away from here.

Upon arriving in North Conway/Jackson, we realized the true state of the people who run this place and the place itself. We heard negative things about this place from more than one person. One of them being one of their "guests" who had fled the place due to terrible business conduct, a filthy room, and extremely rude owners, and had checked into the place we were staying.

I visit New Hampshire very regularly. I have family in New Hampshire and come to the area every year for 2-3 weeks. I have stayed in many places as I have traveled all across the US. This was by far the worst experience I had anywhere. If you are looking for a place to stay, WITH good rates and a very clean, pleasant experience, North Conway Mountain Inn is the way to go and has become my primary lodging place. Great views from the decks outside the rooms, lovely staff, very clean rooms. The Oxen Yoke Inn and Motel is very nice also.

I would like to clarify that I am not seeking drama, or "free stuff." I will never stay somewhere without paying and will always be a patron to small businesses run by good people. And this is not in association with any other guests or their "friends." This is my personal experience, with at the time of my experience, no knowledge of others having similar...

Posting this review after seeing an email exchange between a friend and management of this establishment. Management needs to take hospitality 101 classes. Their website advertised a seasonal pool. A friend chose this location with the pool being a HUGE selling point. Shortly after booking my friend found out the pool was not in working condition (during July). This made the option a deal breaker for the family and she tried canceling her reservation 5 days prior to check in. This lodge refused to refund any money. Clearly, the top priority for the Covered Bridge Riverview Lodge is lining their pockets and a happy family on vacation is not even on their radar. Caveat emptor.

Edit 7/12/18 The owner claims a full refund has been made but no such refund has been reported by my friend. Until refund is made in full this review will remain posted. There is the right way to handle a situation and a wrong way. Covered Bridge Riverview Lodge exercised the wrong way to handle this particular situation. By retaliating via a negative review to my friends place of employment they showed a combatant trait that does not bode well in the hospitality industry. In today's climate, companies like this are exposed quickly and efficiently through social media and online reviews.

In the tour bus industry, I work closely with tour guides and groups on seamless travel logistics. As a member of New England Bus Association (NEBA), United Motorcoach Association (UMA), and American Bus Association (ABA) we work diligently to catalog the ratings of lodging options throughout the Northeast. Establishments unwilling to cooperate based on reasonable requests as well as fair and honest practices are "red flagged". The thousands of members in these associations are comprised of tour guides and Motor Coach operators that are responsible for bringing millions of tourists to New England hotels, inns, and lodges every year.

Furthermore, in my free time, I organize hikes in the White Mountains. The hiking, skiing, outdoor community is tight-knit and contributes millions in annual lodging revenue in NH. Thousands of people are tapped into social groups that discuss everything from gear to where to lodge. When Covered Bridge Riverview Lodge responded in a hostile and unreasonable manner they were exposed as a firm one should steer clear of. In the new age of social media, hundreds, thousands, even millions of people can be given information in a few short hours. Companies can use this to either help or hurt their business. The age of accountability is here.

The way I see it is you have two options in regards to this situation.

  1. Swallow hard and accept your faults. Learn from them and adopt new policies. Make adjustments based on changing conditions and never forget the golden...

If you're ever thinking about staying, just google the business name (or the owner) and "assault" and get back to me. (Never mind which one)||||I rented from here and it was BY FAR, the worst renting experience of my life. I have lived in 7-8 places thus far and this was the only one I ever did not renew my lease, and the only one I ever considered breaking the lease early, which would have been easier if she didn't require first AND last month's rent as well as a deposit, which is almost entirely illegal in NH btw. I guess she knows that most people would want to get out of there as soon as possible.||||The owner is an irrational and delusional bully. She will literally fight every argument, no matter how petty or wrong she is. My neighbor and I BOTH saw her get in the face of a snowplow guy and have a heated argument as well as get in the face and nearly assault a bunch of bikers that had pulled over to get out of the heavy rain. I even saw her go online and lie about it as if what my neighbor and I just saw didn't happen. I honestly can't tell if Priscilla is that much of a liar or just so delusional that she doesn't know what the truth is.||||The worst part is after my lease ended she stole $250 from my deposit. Nothing was ever said to me when I moved out, she just returned 3/4 of a check and made some stuff up about how the fridge being repaired a month after I left was somehow my fault and responsibility (never mind the fact that she accused me of overstuffing a freezer 6 months prior yet no proof or evidence connecting it to the fridge being repaired 7 months later), that a smoke detector that was replaced (and not hooked up properly) was somehow my fault and responsibility, and despite the pictures that I took proving otherwise, and no evidence of her own, apparently I didn't clean the apartment enough and that too was coming out of my deposit. She only got away with it because she already had my $1,000 and my guess is she decided to steal as much of it as she could without making it worthwhile to take it to court. She only provided 1 receipt which shows that she spent $150 on fridge repair a month after I left but nothing trying anything to me. She didn't even attempt to provide evidence on any of her other bogus claims. |||| I confronted her when I found out a month later and she said that she didn't need evidence or to prove anything. She challenged me to take it to court and blocked me. Whatever helps her pay the fine for the hate crime lawsuit she lost.||||Your poor rating and reputation isn't a lie Priscilla...get over yourself. At least point you should realize that 50-100 people that hate you aren't...
