Good place to come ski. My friend and I started with a lesson from on of the ladies there. She was great and taught us well! The ski rentals are not the greatest but they worked. I highly recommend getting on the trails before 9am because they are freshly groomed and it's not very busy. When you arrive, go to the window at top to pay. I guess we weren't clear because we bought a lesson package and three day rental but apparently our trail pass was only for a day. I didn't realize this until we were on the trails the second day and I happened to notice someone's pass looked different than ours. Of the 3 days we were out there, we were only stopped one day and had our trail pass checked but they are out there checking them so make sure you receive the proper pass. The trails are pretty well marked. We skied about 3 hours each day which was a good amount of time. We had other activities planned such as snowmobiling, horse drawn carriage ride, and exploring the area. We also went snowshoeing. The snowshoe rentals are terrible. Especially if you don't have massive boots. We made do but had to stop several times to fix them or strap them back on. Also, as they let us know 29 times, make sure to get your rentals back by 3:30 even though they close at 4. I mean, if I arrived at 4:15, wouldn't they just charge me an extra day and that would be my own fault? Anyway, snowshoe trails were clearly marked too (at least the one we did was). I had snowshoed 30 years ago in the Army and it was good to replace that memory with this one. Lol Much more fun, despite the gear issues. They were still pretty scared of covid there with a bunch of signs telling you where and where not to go that was kind of confusing. Everything was separated and strict. Good thing you don't spend too much time inside! The trails running along the river were pretty and it was lovely hearing the running water. On a side note, if you are staying in the area, I highly recommend staying at The Wentworth in the Amster Cottage. It's the closest you can get to the ski center and it was literally ski in ski out. If they had better ski and snowshoe rentals, I'd give this...

Cons: unpleasant director who doesn't seem to care about her clients or basics of customer service, details below.
Me and hubby took 4 children xc skiing for the day to the warming hut/cocoa cabin and back, about 3 miles. I called at 11:30am to confirm it was open and had cocoa, as we had promised the kids this experience, hot cocoa and a fire pit in the woods! We arrived at the hut at 2:30pm on a blue bird Saturday and it was closed! All was well, we promised the kids cocoa in town and went on but we decided to mention to the staff because it was disappointing. We mentioned it in a pleasant, non-aggressive way with no demands and the director basically told us too bad, she doesn't keep the person there after 2pm (sign says 3) because it's not financially worth it. She offered no apology and argued with us that she was right and how the staff should have told us it was going to be closed. That's your business choice to do so, but we were misled by the staff and then they didn't even have the decency to apologize for the disappointment they caused 4 small children. This was an upsetting experience and I hope they make their patrons aware (in a more pleasant manner) in the future about services that are/aren't open. This place is beautiful, up your customer service for a 5...
Read moreMy in-laws, wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Jackson Ski Touring Center. We were greeted warmly by Marcia at the front desk (she is a superstar). She guided us through some her favorite trails and also advised us which ones might be a little to strenuous for my Mother in-law who's back was bothering her. I would also like to shout out Conner down in the rental room who helped me to pick out a used pair of skis for purchase. Thanks for a great long weekend...
