My wife and I and another couple had dinner at the Wildcat Inn, at the restaurant on New Years Eve this year 12/31/2016. I had always envisioned the restaurant to serve some high quality food and be more of an upscale restaurant. However, to our dislike the meal was certainly not one I would describe as high end. First of all it took several minutes just for our waitress to deliver our drinks. Then there was a New Years Eve special menu and my wife ordered the Prime Rib, I ordered the Lamb and the other couple ordered the Veal Oscar and the encrusted haddock dish. When the meals finally came out, the Prime Rib with the mashed potatoes was cold and the Veal Oscar was a dish that I can not imagine how the chef came up with the recipe. First of all the Veal Oscar was also cold but the Veal was heavily breaded in bread crumbs so they say but it looked like Oatmeal was used. My Lamb was not bad and the Fish dish was also not bad. Both the Prime Rib and Veal Oscar was sent back and the Prime Rib came back and was at least warm this time but had no flavor. The Veal Oscar came back worse than it was the first time with even more bread crumbs and it was raw on the bottom. The women with the Veal Oscar sent the dish back again and ordered the fish dish.
If anyone one who has a least some knowledge about Veal Oscar, they very well know that it has to be lighted breaded and I personally have never had bread crumbs used but instead flour.
Its just too bad that the Wildcat which certainly has a very cozy and warm setting could not deliver on this very special evening. The bottom line is that there a very few upscale, gourmet quality restaurants in the Mt. Washington Valley and I certainly would not return to the Wildcat for...

We were seated at a small table for two on the porch area of the dinning room. It was very warm and when we asked if the temp could be turned down the hostess that sat us said we would need to ask our server. After about 10 minutes out server came over and took our drink order, a chocolate martini and a coke. It was a very mediocre martini as far as a martini goes. We placed out orders, chicken parm and a side salad for my husband and the beef tips for me w a side salad with red bliss mashed potatoβs. My husband had asked for his salad before his meal and it came with the meal, my tips were cooked properly but honestly I could make much better steak tips from my local Market Basket. The potatoβs were very thick and pasty and just not that great. I thought the prices were very high for what we actually received. While trying to enjoy our last evening of our vacation we were sat next to a family with 2 young girls and the father was so loud and rude we couldnβt even have conversation. Other people had to get up to ask for cutlery and asked several times where their foods was. We had asked to have the candle lit and the server said she would come back to lite it but never did. Overall the experience was less than stellar by any stretch and Iβm pretty sure I will not return. The hostess really needs to pay attention to where she is seating people so that everyone can enjoy their meal, not just the loud...

Again, I had the special - almond crusted Talipia with beurre Blanc sauce, mango rice and asparagus. Terrific. Husband had the ahi again. Why not? It was delicious.
Now for music and trivia. Fun place! OH, and we got to sit in Hanna's station again! Woo hoo!! πππππ
7/26/24 BY FAR, our favorite of the last three weeks on North Conway. Hanna couldn't have been nicer or more professional. Funny, sweet, courteous, attentive. She's the tops!
I had the Haddock special which was out of this world! Creamy, shrimp on top and inside, green beans and carrots along with mango rice. Fabulous!!
Husband had the ahi tuna cooked perfectly 'black and blue!'
The whole vibe is great with a special dining area, a separate tavern and even an outdoor garden area with seating and live music.
We will be...
