Bad Apple Beauty — Local services in Jacksonville

I don't typically write a review, but I had to for Bad Apple. We moved to the Jacksonville area almost a year and a half ago. I searched high and low to find a hairdresser who is trained to cut curly hair for my 13 years old daughter. We tried several hairdressers but no one seemed to know how to cut curly hair. We were left disappointed and started the search for another person.

I finally found Bad Apple through a Google search for Deva Curl Trainer hairdresser. I tried several times to book an appointment with Bad Apple but they were always hooked up. I got lucky and was able to schedule an appointment with Jayme.

I explained to him the goal I had with my daughter's hair and every step of the way he walked us through the process. He taught us the correct way to style curly hair and the best products to use. I just want to start off this review by saying this salon is the best place!!!!! I mistakenly let a drunk girlfriend cut my hair and lets just say the cut you get as a child that you instantly regret had nothing on this disaster. I decided to look around and noticed this place had great reviews. I called the salon and the owner not only was very sweet and understanding, he managed to squeeze me in at the end of the day. I got my hair done by APRIL, who I have to say is an angel from Heaven. She was so sweet, funny and did the best job in the world!! She gave great advice on cuts for certain faces, great styling tips, and honest feedback. I will never go to anyone else. I am supposed to be moving to Atlanta and will still travel the 5hrs back down to Jax just for this woman!!! Absolutely amazing!! I decided to do a drastic cut (from hair to my waist, to a pixie cut) so I was understandably nervous. I did some research and decided to make an Appointment with Lee at Shampoo Hair Salon. He was absolutely incredible. He listened to everything I had to say, everything I wanted, and didn't want. Because this was such a drastic change, Lee explained every step to me before he did it. That way I wasn't surprised and it kept me in the loop. Although I had full control of how I wanted my hair done (as made obvious by his talking me through it) I gave him artistic range to do what he felt best. I am so glad I did! He made a couple choices that I wasn't sure about, and they came out AMAZING! That's why he is the expert. Also, I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg for this cut, the prices were incredible, I've paid more for a trim in the past! I could not recommend Lee and Shampoo Hair Salon more....
