I initially called Biggies on Saturday evening (1/25/25), and the individual that answered the phone said "Hello"; then I asked if this was Biggies? He nervously says "oh, yes." I asked him about one of the menu items: a slice (4 toppings) for $7. I asked what toppings I could get, and he said, "Whatever you want." So I asked what toppings they had, and he began to list them while chuckling when he mispronounced a name. After I got the wait time for the slices, I told him I would call back. Once I arrived in 5 Points, I called, the same "Hello" , again, not identifying the establishment. So I ordered 2 slices with 4 items and he gave me a total of $20 +, I asked why and he said, " because you ordered extra toppings" I asked him to help me understand why that price, and he said the same thing. Then I asked what items were the 4 toppings, and he hung up on me. As I was parked, I went into Biggies, and after I got to the counter, I asked if he had been the person answering the phones and the person who hung up on me? He said, "Yes." After I told him that that was rude, he became indignant. I asked to speak with the manager or someone else, and he intimated that he was the manager (which I doubted). After being frustrated with this person, I ordered the Brooklyn Deluxe Slice (as it had all of the items I wanted and then some). After I paid for my order, I let him know I would be posting a review and would identify him as the guy wearing glasses in a Detroit Tigers' baseball cap. If I was in the wrong or that was not an offering, there was a way to professionally tell me so, vice being disrespectful to a customer. I do understand that it is hard to get and retain good help, but this guy is not the one. I've been to your establishment before, and the young ladies I dealt with were courteous and helpful...bring them back. When I got my order and was leaving, he said, "dont forget."I'm the guy in the baseball cap." By that time, I was over it, but to be antagonized and harassed is outrageous. The guy in the baseball cap needs remedial training on customer service and professionalism (saying the name of the establishment when you answer the phone is professionalism 101); or given a broom or relegated to...
Read moreI have always loved the jax beach biggies next to the laundromat that has now closed down. I just started working down town and thought I’d try this biggies for lunch. My first time going I was charged twice for lunch because their system froze and they made me pay again after I told them the charges went to my account the first time. I was told to call to get my refund if both payments hit my account. When I called the guy sounded completely lost and unsure what to do about my problem. He offered for me to come in and get more pizza, but I insisted I just wanted to get my money back. He told me to try to come into the store and get it. So, I just went in to try and get my refund about a week later and the girl instantly got upset with me and rolled her eyes and kept questioning me “because she didnt hear anything about it”. I was honestly just shocked because I wasn't trying to inconvenience her or was rude in any way about it. I didn’t know what she wanted me to do I just wanted my money back so I didnt pay $20 for two slices of stale pizza. After calling the manager and her finally letting me show the charges on my account, she asked me what I wanted. I clarified again that I didnt want food and I only wanted my refund and she went to get money and said “well we are short on change so idk if I can give you all of it.” so I ended up getting the incorrect amount back which was whatever it wasn’t a big difference I just wanted to get out of there at that point. The overall hassle of my refund and lack of customer service makes me not wanna go back. Her experience was very unhelpful and she had a horrible attitude. This was around 12pm on April 18th. I’ve worked in the food industry for 8 years, we all have our bad days and I get that! But she seemed like a very...
Read moreI WAS SERVED RAW CHICKEN TENDERS!!!
I came here on my lunch break yesterday 01/11/24, I ordered chicken tenders and fries with ranch. I patiently waited as it took nearly 15-20min for my food…it wasn’t even busy so I don’t know what took so long for them to “cook” my food. I scarfed down a chicken tender and some fries before heading back to work and took the rest of the food home in a togo box…today I went to put my leftover lunch in the airfryer and to my horror and disgust I realized the chicken tenders weren’t even cooked, they served me RAW CHICKEN!!!! Under the kitchen light the uncooked meat was very visible but I couldn’t tell while I was eating there (Biggies is a dimly lit restaurant and I was rushing to eat) regardless there is no excuse for serving raw chicken to customers. I currently work in the medical field but I have worked in the service industry for very many years and I have NEVER served raw chicken to a guest…the cook should have done his job properly, the staff should check the food and make sure it’s actually safe to eat before letting it leave the kitchen. But no, instead the individual at the cash counter was more concerned about what music to play and the ‘cooks’ in the kitchen must’ve been doing God knows what. This is such a health risk and I am disgusted with this place, I’ve been to biggies many times as I work close by…after this experience I will never return to this establishment and I encourage others to stay away if they value their health cause the staff at Biggies at 5 points clearly don’t. There are plenty of other places in the riverside area that don’t serve uncooked chicken to...
