Hands down. Fastest service for Hibachi known to man. Not kidding, walked in and it took longer to “mandatory put our masks on” and walk to the table than it did for us to remove the mask after sitting in a room full of about 48 people. Before I could put my mask in my pocket the very attentive and professional server asked for our drinks and order before we had a chance to even open the menus.
After ordering our drinks and a “philly roll” we were surprised that the drinks labeled as an “old fashioned” came out to be something from the cool-aid stand at Disney world. Shortly after taking a sip (2 minutes after we ordered) our cook arrived with the food and we then began to wonder what we did to deserve such fast service. (Maybe they thought my wife was an actress or me a sports player) nonetheless, we appreciated the fast service but were confused at why we were sat at the corner of the table awkwardly.
After moving to the middle of the table we proceeded to have an amazing chef cook for us. He was so fast that he had the food cooked and thrown on our plates in less than 6 minutes flat. THIS IS NOT A JOKE. He literally went from cooking to wheeling his cart off after cleaning the stove in less than 8 minutes. Can you believe that he left without ever doing any tricks or the volcano onion. We knew he was talented but we weren’t able to catch any of those skills he held deep within.
After we put back on the mask they demanded we wear (and sold us for $1 each) we walked out with our to go boxes but only after speaking to the server about his attentive and professional behavior and giving him a rather generous 60% tip. As we walked out we realized that we had just experienced a unique situation. We did however, ask him to reduce the Philly roll from the bill that we never received, in which case he was happy to do. The executive Sushi chef didn’t even have enough time to make the roll before we were done and walking out with our to go boxes. Honestly, pretty damn impressive if you ask me.
We had in fact, just experienced the fastest sit down Hibachi experience in the history of our lives and we thought that was a cool experience to have together and remember but felt lost as to what to do with all the extra time. So we went downtown and got drunk and now I’m hung over writing this.
On a high note. We went and threw rings and the bar and rung about 55 shots for the bar and gave them all away. Not sure how we made it home but now we are legends in this bar and we have Wasabi to thank for giving us the extra time to make that...

My bf placed a to go order last night from here and asked me to grab it because I was already out in the area. In all honesty, after realizing where he ordered food from, I was a little skeptical about going to get it, because twice in the past few years I had gotten sick after eating from here. I did not want to be the person that abandons their order and wastes staff’s time. It had also been some time since my last food poisoning incident from here and I heard management had changed so I proceeded to pick up the order.
Upon opening the box at the restaurant to check the food before leaving, everything “looked” good. Well I’m sorry I wasted the money! Looks, in this case, were definitely deceiving! The shrimp were not fresh tasting at all! After one bite, I immediately realized something was wrong and spit it out. They had almost like an ammonia taste or off putting flavor and the texture was strange. I asked my bf “if his shrimp tasted…” and before I could finish my statement, he finished it by saying “OFF!!” “Yes they do taste off or expired. Definitely not fresh.” He tried a couple bites of his chicken and I immediately saw his face turn and HEARD him struggling to chew because it was so tough. He described it as being rubbery and almost crunchy. He couldn’t continue to eat it and resolved to trashing the entire plate of food. After that, I was too nervous to try my steak. I had flashbacks from a previous experience and decided it wasn’t worth it to try to eat it and risk my health. Overall it was a complete waste of $74 for the two meals. Both ended up in the trash and this restaurant is officially off my list. Serving expired and old food at such a high price range is completely unacceptable. After having to temporarily close for health safety violations in the past, one would assume Wasabi would have made the necessary improvements in food safety. At $30+ per hibachi entree, you would think they could afford to keep fresh ingredients and store them at proper temperatures. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the town center but unfortunately it has completely gone downhill. The restaurant literally smells and that should be your first warning to leave. I will give props to the staff. My interactions with them are always nice. But having a nice staff will not make me come back to this restaurant.
Ordered: Chicken and Shrimp hibachi and Filet Mignon and Shrimp Hibachi....
Read moreProbably the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in my life. Not only is the place not allergy friendly, but the wait staff is oblivious. I informed the server of my gluten allergy and I was aware that my food would not be prepared with the whole hibachi experience. However, the server failed to mention that the food would be bland and unappetizing and not equivalent to everyone else’s. If she had; I would have ordered something else. I asked the server if she could tell me if the sauces were safe to eat and she said she would check. She comes back and tells me the all of the salad dressings weren’t and basically stood there with a blank face instead of giving me alternative options. Basically, I would have to pay the same price for less quality and quantity - just does not add up to me. Then, I repeated my question about the sauces. She comes back and says she “thinks” that they are safe. Allergies can be a life or death situation so a “I think” is never the answer to give. For some reason there aren’t any allergy advisories or at least she didn’t know where to find it. I don’t expect the server to know but why doesn’t she ask the kitchen staff or do they not know either? She brings me my plate, the rice didn’t even have egg in it just plain old sushi rice (aka sticky sweet rice). While everyone else at the table had hot fresh food, mine was cold. Not cold like sat for five minutes, cold like it was prepped 20 minutes before. This happened to another diner at the table who also had an allergy, she received cold food. When I told the server, again just a blank face and didn’t say anything. I don’t know if I was intimidating with my allergy concerns, if she was on drugs, or if she just didn’t know what she was doing. After a long awkward silence, she offered to heat up my chicken and comp the meal (not what I was looking for, just a delicious hot meal). She took my plate and that was the last I saw of the food. She never brought me food or asked if I wanted to order something else. So at a table with 4 strangers plus my group I sat there with a bowl of plain lettuce while everyone else enjoyed their hot meal. I asked for the manager, and explained the situation. The only thing I was offered was to remake my meal…now that everyone else had ate, paid, and were ready to leave. Uh no thanks. Humiliating for me and for my family that came with me. I hope this...
