Kyoto Sushi and Ramen — Restaurant in Jacksonville

The food was great, but the service was beyond awful. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. It took us forever to get refills, to get our orders taken, or for them to even get our orders right. There was nothing but miscommunication and inattentive employees. Not to mention we were SEVERELY overcharged. We didn’t realize this till after we left, but the way they added things to the receipt, overcharging us for the stuff we ordered was unbelievable. If necessary I will go into more detail about this because it was the main reason I’m upset with this restaurant. We felt uncomfortable the entire time and extremely unwelcome. I still tipped around 10% on a bill that was over $100, and I believe this was STILL too much. Especially after seeing how much they overcharged us. Worse place for sushi. I ordered 2 signature rolls. I am raw fish lover. Ordered with smoke salmon, tuna,cream cheese. Both of them with fried tops. They bring me well cooked, hot, fried sushi. No taste. So yaki. Fu fu fu. I called server. I asked menu. I thought I red something wrong from menu. I told that it is impossible to eat. I told her to take away everything. She left. And she bringed me check. For full amount. I was so tired to argue. But it is unbelievable service. Go away from this place. I am sushi lover. It is my favorite food. But this place do not know what it is real sushi. Also they don't know what is a good customer service. Server didn't explain me menu. She showed me one of them from list. Other one from picture. And both of them not tasty. Grouse. One I eat. Other one was fully left. And they charged me full amount anyway....

I’ve eaten here twice and at this point, I’ve explored every part of this menu. The service is just fine, friendly and pretty quick. Food though—good Lord, the best items on the menu are just ok. Don’t order Udon noodles. Don’t order the tonkatsu, which tastes like dirty bathwater. Don’t order the miso soup, which also tastes like dirty bathwater with way too much seaweed, giving the impression of lapping up sopping-wet toilet paper. The sushi was okay at best. The steamed bao were unfortunately bland.

Honestly I feel ill as I write this. I think there was something mega-wrong with the tonkatsu broth, which is my main motivation in writing this review. Just don’t do it. You’re gonna...
