Crazy Sushi — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I 1st. tried this restaurant's food 2 years ago, when I 1st. moved to JAX from N.Y.C. We ordered "take out" and when we got home, we didn't like the food we ordered. It didn't taste fresh. Today, we stopped in w/o really thinking about our last experience. Well, we should have! I ordered scallops n my partner ordered sushi rolls. The sushi was good the scallops sucked! They were under cooked. I didn't complaint and just ate the veggies and some of the rice. We waited over 20 minutes after receiving the scallops, for the sushi arrived! When the person who hostess us to the table (who seemed to be a manager) passed by and we asked for the sushi, she asked us "how was the scallops?" I didn't want to make a big deal so I said "ok, they were a bit undercooked" She took the fork of my hand and began cutting the scallops in half, while saying "they are good...they look good" I thought her gesture, of going in my plate, was rude, but I stay quite and said nothing. The service was ok. The waitress was kind and except for the "small burp" of a long wait for missing sushi...Needless to say...We will never be back. Neither will I recommend this restaurant to my friends, colleagues...

Never again! We are long time customers of Crazy Sushi and even though other sushi restaurants are closer to our house, we’ve always made the extra effort to go there instead. However, we went in tonight and there was a long line of to go order customers. No one asked if we were waiting for a seat. We finally just sat ourselves. Several waitresses passed us numerous times and no one even acknowledged us or said they would be with us. We finally got up and got our own menus and let the cashier know we sat ourselves. A waitress finally came to get our drinks, but said she would come back later for our food order. I didn’t even drink my beer. We just got up, paid for the beer and left. Even when I told the cashier we were leaving because the service was so bad she never apologized. She just charged me and out the door we went to Yashi sushi. There were multiple opportunities for staff or management to apologize and no one ever did. With food prices as high as they are, Restaurants could at least be courteous and act like they appreciate their customers. Especially, longtime customers. We will never go back to Crazy...

This place is just your typical sushi / sashimi restaurant, with a "DINER MENTALITY," that we love. It gives you that hometown vibe. The menu offers a tremendous amount of various rolls,,as well as Chef Sushi / Sashimi Boats, as well as Chef Choice! You get your choice of soup: ie: Miso, etc and ginger salad with your meal. *Pros: Great Atmosphere, Great Food, Great Service, Great Prices, Quaint/ Peace & Quiet / Quick Turn Around: Get In and Get out quick type of restaurant,without spending a lot of $$$ for sushi. I've eaten here several times and never had a bad meal or bad service. I recommend this place to everyone who would like to eat great sushi at a reasonable price. *Cons: ok, Being picky - This restaurant can use some TLC. Pertaining to: cleaner glass - front windows & doors. OH - please paint or replace the kitchen waitress/waiter door. You can actually see the upper wear and tear from trays hitting it and lower wear and tear where your foot kicks the door open while carrying trays. After all these years that door, gotta go or...
