The first time that we brought comics to trade in, a gentleman was there that was very nice and fair. However, the last experience that we've had were the two women working on the other side of the connecting store. It was not a good experience. I brought in several comics and graphic novels that were very dear to me. The graphic novels alone cost almost a hundred bucks all together and we're all new and in very good condition. And then I had brought in several comics that were unopened and in great condition, well protected. They asked me what I was looking for and I told them about 40 bucks. Which is a considerably low and fair amount considering how much they were at full price, how much they would be selling them for, and the condition they were in. The ladies said they wouldn't offer more than 25 bucks. I understood going in there that I wouldn't get too much for all of it because I know how these places work. But I never expected that they would lowball me that much. I explained that I was in a tough situation and needed to buy diapers and formula for my baby. The older woman completely took advantage of me knowing that I was in a tough spot and it would be hard for me to refuse. I decided to reject the offer because I was so upset.
I went home and my husband said that he would try. So he went back to the store and they wouldn't budge. We ultimately needed the money for our children and had to end up accepting the offer. We will not be going back here. Be wary of selling to this store. The gentleman is nice but the women not so much they will take advantage of you if you're in a tight spot and are reliant on selling things that are dear to your heart in order to desperately make money to take care of...
Read moreI used to manage a vintage and modern toy store. So I know when taking items into sell, you’re not going to get what they’re selling for on EBay or other sites. Small shops have to make money too. Running a store myself, we normally offered 50% or a little less depending on sales prices on EBay when buying. I recently moved to NC and thought I could sell some stuff and get a couple extra bucks. I took a few things I was willing to part with and knew with what I had I could at least get an easy $200. I looked around the store while the young lady at the counter went over my items. After 40 minutes of looking at the 15 things I brought in, I was offered a incredibly low $80. She was then taken aback when I said I’ll just pass and she hesitated to put my stuff back in the box. I feel bad for the people they’ve probably lowballed but due to life they couldn’t wait...
Read moreTraveling from Ahoskie to Jacksonville to visit family. My brother and I stopped in the shop on our way back. Guy at the counter was super awesome. I'm an avid DC comics collector and I found the store amazing with the collectibles, comics and prices. The prices were very affordable and I left with about 20 books. If I could make a suggestion, a way to catalog inventory would be nice. Also checked out the shop next door. Sadly can't remember the name. Staff were very friendly and nice. An amazing collection of gaming systems and games. I bought a reasonably priced PS4 game from there and a new remote. Will definitely return on the...
