Well after getting up sold 4 new tires because of 1 leaky valve stem on my already good tires (they didn't fix the leaky stem after getting the 4 new tires) I still didn't write this review.
But upon trying to get them to take a nail out with my road side protection this became an utter disaster. Now I am writing this review because I want the public to know what type of service to expect at Farm and Fleet.
I went in to get a nail removed and got a snarky older gal at the tire desk who seemed like she didn't want to deal with me. I get it, I hate my job too. So I called in the next day and waited 15mins to speak with a guy. He was great, I asked him about setting up an appointment next day to have the nail removed at 5:30PM. He booked me in, saw I had the protection. Seemed like it was no biggie, I hung up happy.
I go in the next day for my 5:30PM appointment and the gal at the automotive side who seemed like she could careless said it was pushed back to 6:00 PM but she saw it should have been at 5:30PM like I was told. No one in the shop or her tried to get my vehicle in sooner because of this mistake. No one called me to tell me to not come in till 6:00PM. Takes till 6:45PM to get the nail out and the tire patched.
Upon driving home I hear a huge clang as if someone had left a tool inside my tire well or something wasn't tightened down right. I get out to inspect whatever the noise was and notice the guy neglected to put the tire valve stem cap back on. That is a tell tale sign of poor work in my opinion. I am not sure if either your staff is: Under staffed, over worked, under trained, or what.
But after paying $625.96 for what should have been a simple turn of a wretch on a valve stem. You can see my frustration.
I advise anyone looking for automotive work to look else where after this total experience.
Farm and Fleet my work order number is 847417 and invoice number is 496739. Take what you will with this review but come on guys. I work hard for my money and I expect your crew to work hard for theirs.
And shoot I am going easy on you guys. You scraped my tires when I asked you not to but thankfully your scrap truck had not left yet and someone was able to reclaim them from the heap. The gal doubted me about having the road side protection even though the guy over the phone pulled it up no problem. I was calm and understanding after all these hoops I had to jump through. But after hearing that huge clang on my way home, enough is enough. I don't trust bring my vehicle back here after this experience nor after leaving this review. All I know is, I wish I would have gone to...
Read moreI called the local Farm and Fleet this morning to get a quote on a tire. When I got the quote I asked if that price included everything and the guy on the phone said yes. So I drive down there to get my tire put on. When I got to the desk the assistant quotes me a price over $30 more than what I was told on the phone. When I asked why she explained that I was only quoted the price of the tire not the service fees. Fine, ok...so I said go ahead and put the tire on. I made a point to tell them that the tray that holds my spare tire (that was on the car at the time) was broken and they needed to put the spare in the back (I have a PT cruiser so there is a hatchback for the trunk) when they were done. 30 minutes later the guy who is working on my tire comes into the waiting room and proceeds to tell me that it was unsafe for them to put the spare back in the tray. (ok...deep breath here) I told the guy I was aware of that and that the spare needed to be placed in the back. So another 30 minutes goes by and they are finally done. The desk assistant starts to ask me if they explained their extra tire service to me. I said no....she proceeds to tell me that it covers flats, repairs, etc. At the low price of $10. I promptly told her I did not ask for that and it needed to be removed. So she takes the $10 charge off. So now it is only $20 over the original quote. When I get out to the car I opened the back seat door to put my daughter in her car seat and what do I see?...Yep, the spare tire. In the back seat....NOT the back of the car. I would think that I little common sense would have come into play there. I guess I was wrong. The final kicker was the paper dirt mat and plastic steering wheel cover they left in my car. It was nice that they tried to protect my floor and steering wheel from the grease that may have been present, but take your crap out of my car when you're done. Long story short, watch out for extra 'charges' that are not necessary when you get your bill. Better yet, go somewhere else that actually has some common sense and can get their...
Read moreI called this particular store in search of a gardening soil additive - Vermiculite. The Farm & Fleet located near my home in Madison (an hour's drive away) indicated that the Janesville store had some in stock. It's a seasonal item, and more difficult to find in the fall.
The first sign that I should have just hung up the phone and gone to a different place was that they couldnt pronounce the name, and I had to spell it to the guy over the phone, twice, just so that he could search the inventory. After he found the item in the database and said that they have some in stock, I asked, "Can you please go check that it's physically there, sitting on the shelf, and that you can see it with your own two eyes? I live 45 minutes away and want to make sure you actually have some before I make the drive."
He says: "Okay, hang on." 10 seconds go by and "Yes, it's there." Me: "you actually saw it?" Him: "Yes, I saw it." At this point I should have asked his name, but it slipped my mind.
An hour later, I arrive at the store, and go to the gardening department, It's not anywhere in sight. So I go to the help desk, they call the seasonal department (I have to spell the name to them again), and we are told to come out back to pick it up.
They charge me for 12 bags of the stuff, give me a receipt and send me to the back area outside the store.
45 minutes of them searching (and me standing around waiting) later they give up and tell me that they can't find it anywhere, and don't know who confirmed over the phone that they actually have some. The assistant manager offered to ship me some by mail once they found it, but I could also just go and order some on Amazon, so I asked for a refund.
Long story short: wasted 3 hours of my time due to dishonest/incompetent staff in the seasonal department. They gave me a $25 gift card, which didnt even cover the cost of gas to drive there and back.
Moral of the story: always ask for names of anyone you speak with...
