So tonight my husband and I went in to by a new breaker for our house,we brought the old 1 with us to match up. When we walked in we were greater and we headed straight to the isle with the breakers. We ended up getting a few more things and headed to check out. I had the new breaker on the belt with the other items and I had the old breaker in my hamd and I set it by debit card machine. The cashier questioned the 1 I had with me and I told just as it was. We brought it in to match up. She snatches it off the counter and starts looking it over asking me if I was sure we brought it in with us. I said clearly it's old as hell looking. Paint is wore off. No barcode, clearly tell the screws have are aged. She makes a scene saying she needs to get her manager. Another girl comes over starts examining the breaker as well and says we need to hold on while they check our story. After 10 minutes I ask what the hold up is and she said we are just waiting to see if the girl by the door saw us come in with it. I have never been treated so rudely in menards before. Finally without 1 word the manager handed it back to me and walked away. Not even the cashier said a word. Even a we appreciate your patience or were sorry for the confusion. But no nothing. From here on out I think we will be going...
Read moreWe recently bought a French -door refrigerator from Menards, they were suppose to deliver it on Saturday 2/15. The delivery people did not read the agreement which indicated they were suppose to deliver the refrigerator to the back door nor did they call 30 minutes prior to delivery so the unit went back to Menards. I called to complain and Menards very graciously refunded the delivery fee. Monday came around, the new delivery date, the shippers arrived and announced that they are not allowed to take off the doors to get it through our doorway, so the unit went back to Menards. I called to complain and was told that it was in the delivery agreement that they could not take off the doors but the delivery agreement in fact says that “hauler will remove refrigerator door(s) if necessary to get it through our doorway”. We were never informed by Menards at the time of purchase that their contractors could not take off the doors (which is unlike HomeDepot who is willing to take off the doors). I ended up wasting a day of vacation ....
Read moreThis one star is for the GM. The employees are great and the parts they carry are great. However the GM here will not allow men or women in uniform to shop here in their uniform. This happened on 3 separate incidents that I know of. These men and women are recruiters and with their job they have to stop for things on the way home just like the rest of us for our "honey-do" list and they are in their uniforms. They were not allowed entry on one occasion and told they needed to leave and not able to purchase anything on the other 2 and they were only there picking up things for their homes. This is shameful and disrespectful to our men and women in the military. I was told it was because "they were recruiting". Well if someone has questions about the military and sees them in uniform I would bet that they would talk to them and that's to no fault of these men and women. They should not have to drive all the way home to change cloths just...
