This is my second time coming to M&V nail bar, but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience. I had an appointment at 11:30 AM and didnât leave until 3:00 PM, which felt excessive.
While I received excellent service from Kim and Paige, I was unhappy with the service provided by Richard. My daughter and I came in to get our nails done, and her nails were still wet an hour after they were finished. When I brought this up and asked if we could use a different brand of polish, as the one used wasnât drying properly, Richard claimed that the âDnDâ polish was the only option, even though other brands were visibly displayed. Kim was present when he made this statement, and she was the only one who truly listened to my concerns and worked to ensure we were satisfied.
Additionally, we were waiting to receive pedicures. I had acrylic toenails done by Emma, and I was expecting her to finish painting my two toe nails so I could leave. Instead, she moved on to another client and told me I would have to wait for Kim to paint my nails once she was available after attending to another customer. This added even more time to an already lengthy visit.
When I finally checked out, I mentioned a 15% discount I had received on my phone for booking online. Richard insisted that I show proof, even though it was part of the online booking process. To make matters worse, he gaslighted me and denied his earlier statements during our conversation. I made it clear that I wasnât going to tolerate being lied to.
Throughout the visit, Richard showed little concern for ensuring we were taken care of. He didnât check up on us, didnât follow up to see if my concerns were addressed, and spent most of his time watching TV. Kim, on the other hand, went above and beyond to make sure we walked out happy with what we received. Her attentiveness was the only positive aspect of this visit.
The long wait time, the lack of resolution for my daughterâs nails, and the unprofessional behavior from Richard left me very disappointed. While I appreciate the efforts of Kim, Paige, and Emma, this experience has made me...
Read moreAvoid Getting Serviced by Nail Tech Named James and Other Staff Members. I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this salon because of the unprofessional and discriminatory behavior of James and several other staff members. James displayed clear bias based on race and culture, refusing to assist customers who were not his complexion. When I arrived around 10 a.m. for service, he declined and said he was on a personal call, which is unacceptable during business hours.
To make matters worse, I was told he couldnât do my nails. This was the second time he refused to serve me, only to later assist a walk-in client of his same complexion, treating her with kindness and enthusiasm. Watching that difference in treatment was extremely disheartening.
James and other staff members often stand around side-eyeing, whispering, and speaking negatively about customers in a language they assume cannot be understood. They seem unaware that devices exist to translate and interpret their comments. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful to paying clients.
Another technician noticed what happened, felt bad, and decided to help me. Although I appreciated their effort, the overall service quality remains poor. Pedicures are not done well, and the atmosphere feels uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Despite tipping generously and giving this salon multiple chances because of its convenient location, the experiences have been consistently disappointing.
The salon charges up to $120 for work that does not justify the price. The service lacks quality, consistency, and respect.
Beware: they may even try to change Jamesâs name or deny that he works there, which says a lot about their lack of accountability. UPDATE; still no accountability*
If you are looking for a professional, skilled, and respectful experience, visit the nail shop in Green Tree Mall and ask for Ms. Bri. She provides excellent service and genuine care.
MV Nail Spa is overpriced, unprofessional, and not worth your time, money, or peace of mind. Iâll be reviewing on...
Read moreI have had my nails done here several times in hopes that I would get consistent service , considering the 2 star review that wasnât the case.
While not every set was bad there are things that are consistently wrong with this shop. As a service provider myself I have more grace than I should.
There have been 2 times that I have reached out to the shop to let them know that the nails were not up to par with my expectations considering the amount I paid for them. This last time they last less than a week, in which I called and they said to come in. I came in today and they wasnât me to pay another $60+ to get a new set (mind you it has been less than a week since I paid $150+). I opted just have them removed. The picture indicate what I left withâŚ.
Outside of the quality of work here are other issues I found: they are never on time for the appointment. Any where from 5 minutes to the point of having a different tech do my nails because I couldnât wait any longer. Prices never match. What I book for and what I pay is usually different Often I do not receive the service I book for due to being rushed or miscommunication between reception, the tech or myself. The reuse of porous items. I expected this out of a place like this but today a lady who was sat next to me with visible bacteria on her nails (as a licensed cosmetologist I am familiar with this) they proceeded to do her nails with the same tools that they do other peopleâs nails with. And returned them to the storage with other tools. This is not only unsanitary but poor practice and lazy.
Overall I wonât be returning and I hope this review helps you make a choice too. I donât foresee the establishment reaching out to me due to the fact, they only respond to five star Google reviews (which they typically offer a promotion to, trust me, Iâve gotten a discount for sharing a post too) and the owner consistently...
