I have been coming to Harborside Sport and Spine for over 8 years. Everyone from the receptionist staff, to the techs, doctors, physical therapists and massage therapists are absolute top notch. You are treated by everyone as if you are their friend or a family member who cares about your overall well-being. They are all very organized and itâs very apparent that every staff member is invested into making this office the best it can be. If youâre questioning, âyea but can they treat me for whatâs bothering me?â - well let me give you an example:
2 years ago I tore my labrum in my shoulder pretty bad. I elected not to get surgery on it after seeing a sports medicine doctor. This doctor insisted I get physical therapy at a location that specializes in sports injuries such as this one, and he was quite insulted when I suggested I keep going to my Chiro for therapy instead of where he was suggesting. The fact of the matter was that I was comfortable with going to Harborside and wanted to see if they could rehab me before going to a place I had never been to before. Well, Letty and Chris (the 2 physical therapists on site at Harborside) worked on me and they were able to restore my labrum tear to the point where I had no more pain and now Iâm able to do EVERYTHING I was able to do beforehand. Between their unwavering commitment to getting me better, and the work from Stacy (massage therapist) had done on me, I was amazed at how quickly I recovered. Also, Dr Dave and Dr Phil are truly the best at what they do - not only are they healers at their craft, but they legitimately care about each of their patients as if you were their personal friend or family. I hope they all know how thankful I am for everything they have done for me.
If youâre looking for a Chiro that has it all, this is without a doubt the place. Thank you Harborside...
Read moreI went to Harborside sport & spine for acupuncture primarily. Iâve been there off and on for a couple of years. I had a treatment plan with my acupuncturist, Sue, had several sessions with her, and she was amazing; no complaints. My frustration is with the office and who ever manages it on a day-to-day basis. Couple of years ago, I first went in for chiropractic treatments and when that didnât work, switched to acupuncture which helped immensely. Since then Iâve only requested appointments for acupuncture. However, twice when I went back after breaks for a few months, theyâd confirm appointments with the acupuncturist but when I went in for the appointment said I had to see the chiropractor although there was no ambiguity with my request. I was not given a heads up at all and was only told when I got there. They also never gave me a heads up twice when my acupuncturist was not available; I only was told after I commuted to their office so a waste of time. Itâs like they hoped once you got there you would proceed with the session and spend money even if you were not comfortable because you went all the way there. It probably does not seem like much but when you are lying on a table, eyes closed and allowing someone to poke needles in you, you want someone you are comfortable with, not be surprised with a random stranger with 0 heads up. Their billing dept. also is not great. My insurance was paying for the sessions but they kept having me pay out of pocket even after I had met the out of pocket max of 5 sessions. Only stopped after I noticed and pointed it out. Everyone is super polite but the repeated lack of transparency and shadiness is...
Read moreAfter my second consultation, I was surprised to see this place so highly reviewed. The first time I went (free consultation), I saw Dr. Dave, who seemed nice. They took x-rays then told me to come back for a second follow up. I had a great experience so ended up coming back, where I met Dr. Phil. I'm not sure if it's because I was one of the last appointments and he was already 20mins late before he saw me but he was talking a mile a minute and very condescending. He took out a laminated copy of varying spinal misalignments and told me those weren't my x-rays (obviously). He had me read aloud to him the first column about a normal spine, cut me off, and then went on for 15mins about the different phases of spinal neck misalignment leading to the worst scenario. It was such a frustrating experience. I had no idea the point he was trying to make given how fast he was talking. By the time we got to my x-rays, I was really annoyed because I had spent the whole appointment being talked down to. Gave me a treatment plan and when I asked more details, he refused. Told me he won't tell me the exercises (I didn't ask for them, I told him he's talking so fast I had no idea what the treatment plan entailed). It was a load of crock and a total waste of my time. I'm disappointed with myself for even coming a second time. I wouldn't trust Dr. Phil...
