Before you settle on this spot, give it an extra thought.
Noise: Maybe I lucked out with some decent neighbors next door, making the walls between units seem fine. But let me tell you, you can practically eavesdrop on the neighbors above. The building's design is lacking, and there's a no-carpet policy, so you'll be privy to every creak and shuffle. Get ready to know your neighbors' daily routine—when they rise, when they hit the hay. And that door slam? Brace yourself—it's just them heading out. Oh, and if you're in the unit facing the school, make peace with the sound of dribbling basketballs and random events during the school season.
Poor interior: Despite being a new apartment, the interior quality is a bit off. You can just sense that they've cut corners.
Weird package reclaim policy: Forget picking up your delivered package whenever you please. No, you have to wait for the concierge to check and log them into the system. It might take a few hours after delivery, and if they're not at the front desk, you'll be twiddling your thumbs until they are.
Expensive: If you've got wheels, I'm pretty sure you can find a more budget-friendly and decent option. Without a car, this place isn't too shabby, but it might not be essential. Journal Square is a more affordable pick if you're heading to NYC. Plus, most grocery stores in this neighborhood will have you shelling out some...
Read moreGood luck even trying to tour this place. I opted for the self-guided tour, which requires downloading an app, creating an account, uploading your ID and photo for verification (a process that takes about 20 minutes), and granting excessive permissions—including access to all devices—just to retrieve a key fob from a lockbox.
The app was supposed to unlock a "bluetooth" lockbox containing the key fob, which was required to access the apartments and amenities. Turns out the lockbox wasn’t bluetooth at all—it was a regular lockbox that required a code, and the app never provided one. And with no one at the front desk to assist, I was completely stuck.
The lobby was also a disaster, with packages and deliveries scattered everywhere, completely unmonitored. No security, no staff, just a pile of boxes. Between the app’s incorrect directions, the unnecessarily complicated access process, and the complete lack of assistance, I gave up and left.
What makes this even worse is how shockingly different it is from nearly every other building in the area. Every other place I toured that day had at least one person at the front desk, a seamless touring process, and a lobby that didn’t look like an abandoned mailroom. For a building charging market-rate rent, this level of disorganization and...
Read moreMy roommate and I have spent a wonderful year at Warren at York, and as we prepare to move on to new beginnings, we can't help but reflect on our time here with great fondness.
Firstly, a special thank you to Samantha, who has been incredibly supportive throughout our move-out process. Her assistance was nothing short of exceptional, and she truly made this transition smoother for us.
The management team here is remarkable, always prompt in their responses and efficient in resolving any issues. We've never lost a package, thanks to the vigilant concierge service that greeted us warmly every day. Maintenance requests were handled promptly, ensuring that everything in our apartment was in top condition.
Living in the corner of downtown Jersey City, we enjoyed both the hustle and bustle of city life and the serene quietness when needed. The location is perfect, surrounded by a plethora of restaurants and grocery stores, with the PATH station just a short walk away. It's a unique blend of convenience and tranquility that is hard to find.
Everything about Warren at York has been awesome. We will definitely miss living here. For anyone considering this place, it comes highly recommended for its great utilities, excellent management, and the wonderful...
