MANAGEMENT NOT RESPONSIVE
From the time my family checked in on Tuesday until we checked out Saturday, we had no wifi in the room. The first day the person at the desk told me the hotel itself was having problems overall. The next morning when we still couldn’t get on I was told by a different person all the wifi in the building was fine and to contact support. My daughter spent over half an hour on the phone and nothing was resolved. I walked down to the front desk and was told to try connecting in the lobby and maybe the connection would continue in my room (it did not). He also said he would let the manager know and she could call support as well. On the third day I received a check-in text from the desk asking how things are and I repeated that we still had no wifi. No response. My daughter called support again and spent another half hour on the phone with no result. The next day I had a text conversation with the front desk. He claimed he went to our floor and checked empty rooms on either side of us and it worked fine. (That may be true, but I am dubious.) He then offered to show me on his phone that the wifi worked. I complained and asked what good that would do us if his phone worked. He finally apologized and offered to comp the expensive $27+tax daily parking fee for our week. Upon arriving home I found we had been billed by the hotel even though we had prepaid through a third party. I called the hotel, who told me to email the manager and gave me her email address. After emailing on Monday I had heard nothing by Friday, so I called her and she said it was in process of being refunded. When it finally was the next week, it was for almost $40 less than what we had originally been billed. In looking at the invoice I see they had neglected to comp us for one day of parking. I replied by email explaining this and including screenshots from my text conversation where this was agreed upon. No answer. After two weeks I emailed again, including screenshots of the texts, invoices, etc., and got no response. This is not an inexpensive hotel and to be treated in such a shoddy fashion is unacceptable to me. Not to mention lack of wifi could be a serious problem for anybody trying to keep in touch with the office, as well as infuriating for teenagers staying in a room for vacation. Can’t...

Read moreWhat a great time, what a great place to stay. Fantastic room, awesome staff. I had such a wonderful visit.
I booked my room through H-Honors reservations because, after seeing on Google Maps, that the Hotel had outdoor parking, I felt confident that I would be able park my truck there.
When I arrived, I was a little dismayed at the daunting height restrictions regarding access to the parking area. I went to the front desk and explained my concern and was told "No problem, talk to our Valet Parking Team".
What a relief, this place is staffed with AmeriCans (as opposed to AmeriCan'ts).
In short order "the team" opened a side access gate and had me backed into a cozy little spot out back were I could wait until my room was ready, (I arrived a little early, even for an early check-in).
What a surprise. Shortly after that, I received a text message informing me to drop by the front desk. My room was ready.
After a delightful check-in with the front desk staff I went to check out the room. I was so pleased.
The room is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and the view is fantastic.
I had such a great time at this property.
The staff are smart, professional, and courteous. But best of all, they are kind, fun, and funny. I had a blast.
The next morning it was breakfast. Another great experience. The Ladies where organizing us groggy patrons (There was two wedding parties here this weekend) in order accommodate us in the most pleasant and comfortable manner.
The food is "Delicious and Nutritious". There is something for everyone.
Something else to note. The Hotel is just a very short walk from the " PATH Train" station. It will take you down to the station at the World Trade Center.
So if you are thinking about going to a game, seeing a show, or maybe just checking out the sites. I highly recommend staying at this location. You can leave your vehicle at the Hotel and get on the 'Transit', but that is just me.
I'm from Toronto. The most wonderful 4th 'Big City' in North America, (Go Raps, Go Jay's). I deliver Beef to the Terminals in the Bronx, Tofu to Queens, and Breakfast Pasteries to Brooklyn. Not very impressive.
The only 'Best Thing' about NYC is the wonderful people that live here, and that sentiment was only magnified with this stay here at the Double Tree.
God...
