I brought a cross pendant to this jewelry store last October to have it placed on a chain as a special gift for my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. I gave it to her on November 10th. When they visited for Thanksgiving, she told me the clasp had broken the very first time she tried to wear it. Since she lives in Fort Worth and hadn’t brought the necklace back with her at that time, I told her to bring it the next time they visited so I could return to the store and have it repaired.
She recently brought the necklace during a visit, and I took it back to the store to explain the situation. The associate asked if the chain was 10k or 14k gold — I wasn’t sure, so I asked if she could check the records since I hadn’t kept the receipt. She told me it had been too long ago and they wouldn’t be able to look it up. I was then told it would cost $135 to replace the clasp.
I was surprised and disappointed that there was a charge to repair what was clearly a defective clasp, especially considering it had never even been worn. I had hoped they would stand behind their work and make it right. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this store. I regret giving my business to a place that does not prioritize customer satisfaction or accountability.
If you have any work done at this store, check it thoroughly...
Read moreI was a customer here 2 times. I think they perform quality repairs, however, for certain things they are way overpriced. For example they took care of the condensation in my watch for only 60 bucks and the other mail-in services was about to charge me $150. The second time I brought sliver chain and they told me it would cost $25 to repair a broken link. The guy at The Gold Factory Jewelers- right down the street- did an awesome job just for 12 bucks! So it is hit and miss. The suspicions thing is that I told them about their pricing on 2 occasions and every time they immediately offer discount. This means they know that they are overpriced and I guess just fishing if the customer swallows the bait and pay the high price tag. In my opinion, it is unethical...
Read moreI took a Seiko watch in to have links added to the band. They added a damaged link that I did not notice until after I got home. When I took it in to have the link taken off, the owner said he couldn't remove that one because it was soldered on. He attempted to fix the link, but only made things worse by scratching the other original links. He buffed it out slightly and then refused to give me my money back for the unused link. I will not be returning and I suggest anyone reading this does not patron this...
