Attempted to return an area rug that I had bought the day before from another store. Since, the rug was over $200 the cashier needed managerâs approval. No problem there. The manager, TJ, looked at the rug and asked if I had the receipt. I said yes and the cashier confirmed I had the receipt. She said she was just calling him for approval due to the price. He asked when and where I bought it. I said last night at the Buckhead location as shown on the receipt. He says ok. Then he starts looking all over the rug. I asked what he was looking for. He says oh nothing and then said I could not return it because he doesnât have a way to display it. I said the Buckhead store had it folded the same way it is now and they had two of them displayed that way. He still says he canât return it because he doesnât have a way to display it and to take it to the Buckhead store and they will have to take it back. I have never had any issue like this or heard of such. He kept saying âbless youâ in a condescending manner every time I responded. I asked for his name and store number took my item and left. I drove right down the street six miles to the Peachtree Corners location and returned the rug with no problem. The cashier said she had never heard of such a thing because if TJ were to get the rug in inventory how would he display it thenâŚhe would figure it out. I agreed and left happily with my refund. TJ does not need to be in a managerial role and needs some additional coaching. I have been shopping at HomeGoods for years and this is my only...
Read moreI called a couple of days ago inquiring about a very large $200 item at my local location that had sold just as I went back in to purchase it. Even though it is a bit of a drive for me, this location is new, so I was hoping theyâd get it in with a shipment soon. I was nervous calling to ask, but the manager was very kind and assured me that he knew which item I was asking about and to try calling back each day to see if theyâd gotten it. It is two days later and I called, and the lady that answered was very abrupt and stern and refused to transfer my call or let me ask the manager if theyâd gotten the item in or check and see if they had, and just kept repeating I would need to come in to see if it was there. I got off the phone feeling very humiliated for bothering to ask, and even though a couple of the other locations I called beforehand were more than happy to help me (and the internet suggests it is totally not a bother to ask about an in stock item) I donât think I will ever call about an item again. I understand that cashiers are busy, but that there are ways to transfer the call to store staff for a quick item check. I just made the 30 minute drive there and the item was not in stock-so I am extremely disappointed. Maybe it was an off day, but be weary about calling to ask about in...
Read morethe most rude cashier Iâve dealt with today in this location. Her name was Stacey. I got to the counter and set my things down at the wrong checkout station and she rudely said âno, one is right hereâ. I could not believe her rudeness. I was on the phone and surely I could have paid better attention but for her to then say âwell maybe if you got off the phone, you wouldâve heard meâ. After I was done checking out, she then talked about me to the next customer who came to her because I asked to speak with a manger just to let him know the situation. No need for a scene, he just needed to know of her behavior. The customer at her checkout was also taking her side and both her and the customer smiled at me and laughed. Disgusting behavior. Awful...
