Updates:
I revised my previous review since the issues mentioned below have mostly been resolved by the new management/ salespeople/ staff in the past year or so and they have done a great job keeping this gym safe and sound and the equipments and machines updated and have made this gym a great place to work out, swim and play sports. I would also like to thank Sean B, the caring Operations Manager who spends 10-12 hours a day walking around the gym every day and checking on everything and everybody, as well as Royce G, the sales Specialist who is always pleasant, honest and has such positive attitudes towards members and visitors and tries his best to answer your membership questions and give you the best deal possible. Good job. Thank you all.
Old review: Very bad! Some of the new members and guests have recently turned one of the used-to-be best gyms in the area to an unbearable place that you just want to get out of it as soon as you walk in. People here can get away with literally anything such as slamming weights, getting loud when they are having a normal conversation, … There are also people who come here not to work out (since they do not have proper gym clothes and should not be allowed to enter the gym in the first place) and they just come to mess around. The issues were brought up to the management’s attention multiple times but no action was taken. And 90% of the time, there is no manager present and they’ve got couple of young kids at the door who have no authoritarian power and experience in managing this place. They have made this used-to-be a very nice gym to a very disgusting unbearable place...
Read moreWhen it comes to choosing a gym, the environment and staff can make all the difference. A gym that prides itself on cleanliness and friendly staff not only ensures a pleasant workout experience but also fosters a welcoming community.
Firstly, a clean gym is a cornerstone of a good fitness center. It speaks volumes about the management's commitment to the health and safety of its members. In this gym, every piece of equipment shines, and the floors are spotless, reflecting the staff's dedication to maintaining a pristine workout environment.
Secondly, the staff at the front desk are the face of the gym, and their friendliness sets the tone for the entire establishment. They greet each member with a smile, are always ready to assist, and go above and beyond to ensure that all gym-goers feel at home.
Moreover, the front desk is more than just a check-in point; it's a hub of positive interactions. The staff there are not only knowledgeable about the gym's facilities and services but are also eager to help members with their workout routines or to simply offer words of encouragement.
The combination of a clean facility and friendly staff has a profound impact on members' motivation and retention. It creates an environment where members are excited to return, knowing they will be entering a space that is both hygienic and supportive.
In conclusion, this gym exemplifies the ideal workout setting through its impeccable cleanliness and the warm, engaging staff at the front desk. It's these qualities that contribute to a superior gym experience, encouraging members to maintain their fitness goals and enjoy...
Read moreCustomer Service is terrible. It all starts with the back and forth between the greeter at the front desk, the manager, and I several months back. The lady will not talk directly to me and has the greeter repeat whatever she's saying. The lady manager says that I have to mail out a form to cancel my membership, so I said okay. I ask where I can get this form, and she says either online or come by and get someone to print out a form. So I swing by after work one day and get the form. I mail it out. I thought that would be the end of it, but about 3 months later, I'm still getting charged. I called today. Nobody will give me a straight answer or call me back. I was told (at first) that I needed to call a number to confirm that I wanted to cancel my membership? I went out of my way to mail out a cancellation form! Why would I needed to confirm whether I want to stay or leave LA Fitness?! Then I was told that I have TWO barcodes? I physically went into the establishment to have someone pull up my account, and they get the wrong barcode. I was only paying for one account the whole time. Oh, the manager didn't talk to me directly AGAIN, and had the person up front relay the messages to me. Then I was told that the manager would handle the situation and call me back. I never received a phone call back. I called again several hours later, and no one has a clue about what happened. Long story short: Don't ever step foot in an LA Fitness....
