I visited this store at about 5:30pm on 9/05/2014 and asked an employee, (The woman was white and looked to be middle aged), about the kinds of sales the store may have from time to time. She replied, "The only sale we have is on black Friday-- we may put a few books outside. We are not really into sales, because our books are already priced low." Now the way she said this to me was not very helpful at all. She did not care to know my interest in any particular book and she did not seem to care to wow me as my family and I were the only customers in the store at that particular moment. She stayed behind the counter and was very preoccupied. I got a cocky aire from her as if I offended her. When my family and I left the store we did not know what to think of the service we got. I am sure that there were friendlier ways to discuss the store's promotions. I mean goodness, every store has some kind of customer appreciation sale, rewards card, buy back plan or some other service or deal that customers would love knowing! Depending on who you ask their books are not all that reasonably priced especially when you compare it to other used book stores my family and I have frequented! I could go to the Goodwill and buy the same adult books for less than $2.00 each! Truthfully, I did not expect to pay prices that are that low in this store, but to say that their prices are already low is an overstatement. What she said was totally beyond anything I would have ever imagined hearing! I guess that is why their shelves are so packed with books because they don't sell much of...
Read moreI used to be the biggest supporter of Read it again….. but after the third time of being spoken down to & made feel unwelcome by the same woman at the counter, I will be taking my long time business elsewhere. Not once but three times have I been spoken to a rude manner, fully scoffed at, & this time was the tipping point as once I left the store to return the books to my car did my daughters overhear the employee talking to the other employee about me - fully aware that all 3 of us came in together. In addition, the employee in speaking to me in a demeaning manner also started talking poorly about another customer. All we did was ask if they had time to just take a bag of books without an appointment - fully told them we did not need credit then & we understood if they did not have time. They also started laughing when I walked out of the store to put the books back in my car. Not sure what kind of customer service this is to speak to customers in this manner- regardless of what your book policy is or what you “have no problem saying no to and will keep doing”. Very sad and disappointed as this is my 3rd similar encounter. The owner is a beautiful person with a beautiful bookshop but unfortunately this same employee creates an unwelcoming...
Read moreThe customer service in this place is AMAZING! I saw a book for my boyfriends birthday and shame on me waited till the last min to purchase it. It was so last min that I had to call and have him pick up the book. Well, Ann was so helpful. I described the book and gave her the title and she quickly found it. I asked her if she could wrap it in something so that when he picked it up he didn't see what it was. She did! I had banned my boyfriend from the bookstore till after his birthday, and I told her that. When he picked it up they we're very nice and told him not to peak, and even teased that they would staple the bag shut if he did. He was very good and didn't peak and was very happy with the book. He is now able to return and look at all the great Dr. Who things they have. Ann was AMAZING! Kim was also great as she reached out to me about a book order and kept in great contact with me. Thank you for making my boyfriends...
