I've been shopping at this store for 21 years, as well as the other JC Kroger's. I noticed mold inside one of the bags of organic Roma tomatoes today, so I gave it to one of the workers there, and he threw it away, then he looked at the other bags and noticed there was mold in several other bags of org Roma tomatoes (about 6 bags in all). I asked him if he'd mind marking 2 of them down to 99c each and letting me buy 2 of them, so I could clean them with a dilute CLOROX solution as I've done for years, but he wouldn't let me. At this same time, the produce Mgr and 2 other guys were chatting with a woman in the nearby floral dept, and they were giggling and acting like children. They can't even keep moldy vegetables and fruit out of their public display, but they have all kinds of time for goofing off and wasting time.
One of their long time cashiers, a blonde woman named Irene, has overcharged me several times. This last time, about 2 weeks ago, I took the receipt in and asked for a full refund of the price of that item, and the CS reps refused, so I took the items I had in my bag and dropped them off in the produce section for them to take back to where they belong, because I was fed up with that store and their goofy cashiers that shortchanged me multiple times, and their goofy produce workers that allow moldy vegetables to be on display. Then I was going to leave negative feedback, then decided to call the MGR of the store and ask for the full refund. I got the asst mgr, he said the Mgr was on vacation that week. He said he'd give me the refund, if I had the receipt to show to him, but I'd already thrown it away. That made me feel a tad better about the store, but the asst Mgr didn't seem to have a very good attitude either, which didn't make me feel any better about the store in general.
There are a few people in there that seem fairly nice, but most workers in this store are not friendly and seem to be what you might see in Walmart. I guess that's because Johnson City is the SHITHOLE of the Tri Cities. Goofballs goofing off in the produce section, while fruits and vegetables gather mold on display, and CS reps that refuse to offer a full refund for items you were overcharged for, even after their cashiers shortchanged you multiple...
Read moreAfter placing an order while I was quite sick with COVID I realized the card I used by mistake did not have any available money on it. I called the store and asked if I could use cash instead and still get my order but they would not allow me to change anything. My options were to do it over and come back to Johnson City the next day or have it delivered, but my entire family is down with COVID the cost to have our groceries delivered was not something we can keep doing after being sick for over a week. My family needed the groceries now and I am the only one well enough to shop. I asked if the store could at least let me keep the cart they had put together and then cash out instead but the store manager Taylor told me the district manager was with him at the time and it was Kroger's policy not to expose their employees to someone with COVID. I tried my best to explain I did everything I knew to do on their website to avoid this, but my saved method of payment was not up to date. I just needed to pay for it and then pick up my order as planned. I attempted to change my order in the app, but this didn't work either. So, I masked up and went in the store and eventually found all the items I needed and checked out. In my opinion, the store manager could have allowed me to at least check out with the items already placed in a shopping cart instead of me hobbling along in the store for over an hour sick attempting to get some food to cook for my husband and kid who...
Read moreThe store is dirty not stocked, produce department a mess, and especially the front end is a joke. Nothing but lazy kids working who don't know how to ring people up. They don't train them. Just standing around. And only got one lane open with self check out. So you got to wait for like 10 minutes to get check out. And those working as baggers are lazy. They just stand there , don't keep busy or clean the front. Or get buggies. I hate using big buggies. Or and they got people with beards working in the deli with out covering them. And the meat department sucks. I wanted stew meat one night and who ever cut the meat cut them way to small that the meat will cook up to nothing. I won't be surprised if they closed kroger on sunset. I would be happy. I hate lazy people. Plus they don't stay open the posted hours they close early. The bathrooms are dirty and smelly. Homeless people hangs out in them or front of the store. And one time I had to go to the bath room bad , a employee was there in the only stall playing on his phone wasn't even going to the bathroom. I also forgot who ever stocks the bread needs to cut their finger nails, the bread has bag has holes and It goes bad before the date on the bag. And the chips are crushed, they are not careful with them and crushed the bag trying to get more on the shelf so they won't have to work later. And some of the employees...
