The Refinery — Local services in Jonesboro

I went to shop here for the first time and when I walked in things started off great. Me and my mother were greeted by the assumed owner and she made sure to let us know that if we needed anything she’d be there to help. Then she goes on her way to continue working. I quickly found the items that I was looking for and went to peer around at some of the other things that I thought were cute considering I was going to make a purchase of multiple things. However another employee who goes by the name of Kennedy, watched me walk to the wall of jeans and continued to stare at me. I payed no mind because I was just looking to see if there were any cute jeans that I’d want. But the staring quickly turned into her sauntering up and snatching the dresses out of my hand and saying “I’ll get a dressing room started” which quickly threw me off because I wasn’t done looking and I didn’t ask for a dressing room yet. I would have just chalked it up to her doing that for all the customers however she had an incredibly offensive look on her face when she peered at me which let me know that it was all about how I looked. I never have been the type to chalk anything up to racism but me and my mother were very clearly the only black women in the store and no one else was done the same way. So I quickly went and told my mother that I wasn’t going to make the purchase and why. so she went with me to the dressing room as I explained what had happened and yet again KENNEDY happened to be standing there mean mugging me and my mother. I had been so excited to visit the refinery for a while and had just never got to it. However it’s safe to say I will never be back even though Lisa was really nice. I have ordered from The Refinery a few times and each time the customer service has been impeccable! This last time I placed a decent sized order and two of the items were accidentally forgotten in the shipment. I simply called them. They fixed it immediately and were so apologetic! Life happens. People make mistakes. They didn’t need to apologize profusely, but they did and even sent me the cutest pair of earrings to match my shirt that had been forgotten in the first shipment as a way of apologizing yet again! They go above and beyond for their customers! Every single item I have ever ordered from them has been even better than I expected! I am new to town, saw the store window and decided to swing in while my spouse went into Starbucks. From the moment I walked in NO ONE greeted me NO ONE asked me if I was looking for anything specific nor did they even say they would help me at all.
