T.J. Maxx — Local services in Joplin

Got followed and accused of stealing after wondering around and holding a candle. My mother and I rarely go here, I was a little lost and was looking at the blankets. A woman, pale and wearing her hair in a bun that had brown hair decided to follow me and have associates follow me the whole time. It was a horrible experience. My mother and I got split up so I grabbed my phone out of my pocket to call and see where she was. I had no bags and I was just wearing shorts and a pocket less sweater. I have social anixety and I'm very shy so I say nothing and I let them following me. They followed me and used their walkie talkies to tell each other where I am. I work in retail so I know how this works. When I made it to the check out and was waiting in line the lady with the bun and a group of other girls charge at me and the lady with the bun yelled that's her. And watched me check out. My mother asked if there was an issue to the group of ladies and asked why we were constantly being followed. Of course, they had nothing to say and just walked away. The cashier was extremely rude and they all basically watched us leave. At this point we were very distraught and confused. I wouldn't waste your time here if you were a person of color unless you wanna get racially profiled for just walking around shopping. If you are a fan of Ross, Marshall's or Burlington Coat Factory, then you need to check out TJ Maxx. The Northpark Mall TJ Maxx is in a great location that allows for easy access. The store is very clean, but I don't like some of the recent changes to the layout. I found that the Men's cologne are spread out, where the women's perfumes are in one section and well maintained. The Men's colognes that are on clearance are hard to find and can be with the Men's undergarments or mixed in with the women's clearance items. This is a good place to find clothing for children. I have had good luck finding socks for the little ones. I also found Nike and Speedo swimming goggles near the checkout shelves. Gary answered the phone after 9 when my hubby called, even tho they were closed, we thought they didn’t close til 9:30. Hubby gave him the description and style number of the chair we were searching for after driving all over looking for another one because our store only had one. Not only did he do it, but sent us a pic to make sure it was the right one and put it on hold for us til we can get there tomrrow because we are 2hrs away. TJ Maxx Gary is one of the good ones!!!
