Affordable blend of Asian cuisine with some American favourites. Hibachi and dining available, family friendly, unique staff and house music (K-pop). Fast, filling sushi rolls, generous portions for the price. Full bar, good assortment of sake. Helpful hints: For optimal service, please wait to be seated. *I would caution parents of young children to keep the little ones in shoes. Floors near hibachi tables and elsewhere can be slick. Additionally, running is unsafe. The grill area is fairly open, and hibachi tables retain high temperatures, even after being turned off. Regarding hibachi: Lunch is served from 11-3pm most days, excluding a few holidays. Dinner portions can be ordered at any time, but lunch is not offered after 3pm *The adult lunch special (chicken, shrimp, or beef) is a better buy than the kid's meal during lunch *Seating and wait time, once seated, runs ten to fifteen minutes to make optimal use of tables and available staff. Dining time varies between thirty minutes to an hour, depending on flux of business. *Servers are required to tip out the chefs from their dining and hibachi tips. Please keep this in mind when rating your service. *Large parties are welcomed and appreciated. Reservations can be made by phoning the restaurant. *Carry out orders are welcomed and appreciated. During peak hours it can take a little while to get through while in shop customers are being accommodated. Your patience is appreciated. *Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and low carb options are available. Let them know what you cannot have and you will be accommodated. MOST FOODS DO NOT CONTAIN ANY MSG. Avoid the crab stick sushi (not the same as crab used in Rangoon or rolls), and the yakisoba if you have a sensitivity MSG. Your server is your bartender, unless another server can assist more quickly. This may effect the duration of time taken for drinks to arrive at your table. *Draft beer is not currently available *Teriyaki and ginger sauces, dressing, seafood/yum-yum, spicy mayo, and duck sauces are made in house. All sushi is prepared by the order, half rolls are NOT available.
**A few more things with noting: Your business is important to them, even when short staffed. That being said, dining in customers do tend to take precedence over phone in orders. The same servers who handle your table service are responsible for handling phone in orders, which includes partial prep of those orders, packaging, etc. If the restaurant is full or if the servers are temporarily overwhelmed as a whole, carry out orders can sometimes take a back burner to ensure promptness and optimal service to the physically present customers inside the store. Usually this is handled in honest and courteous manner, wherein the phone customer will be asked to call back in a few minutes.
A word on time of arrival for entrees: Meals are prepared in two to three parts of the kitchen. The sushi is not prepared where the dining items are prepared (ex: steak, general chicken, grilled salmon). Sometimes the sushi will be ready first, so the customer might get that first, in order to ensure prompt delivery of the freshest product. In other cases, certain rolls, usually baked or fried for example, will have a longer preparation time than, say,...
Read moreThe sushi was decent. However, the service was bad. I visited 11/06. Everything was fine, food came out fast, was fresh etc no issues. Until about 8:10pm. I was actively still eating and the waitress I did not get her name but she was a middle aged Asian woman. She brings the check. Okay, a little passive aggressive on "hurry up and leave." You don't bring the check unless they are done or ask for it. However, I continue eating and she keeps walking past the table to see if I put my card there for payment. So finally I just gave it to her so I can not be hovered over and finish eating in peace. She returns the card. Then starts clearing the table and touches dishes I'm still eating and says," let me hurry and get these to the dishwashers." Okay great... 🥴 Finally I finish and I'm sitting waiting for my uber which is a few mins away. I'm listening to her talk to another waitress and she's complaining how she didn't make any money today. She only made $22. There's no reason why any customer should know what you made in tips today. I gave her 15% of my bill however i took the loud comment as she felt i didnt tip enough. It honestly would have been more if she wasnt so pushy about the check and leaving. So i gave her the customary 15%. After her conversation she comes over at exactly 845 and says they are closed now and I if i could go. They actually close at 9 but i didnt say anything. I went and stood outside and waited for my uber for 5 minutes. Very unproffesional and...
Read moreI made a to go order last night and picked it up after my work out. Partially my fault for not checking the order but just assuming that things were package together. When I got home I realize that I was missing both of my sushi rolls that I had ordered I immediately called back to let them know that I was missing that and all I was offered was for them to somehow remember me and that next time I came in they were going to give me my food for free. I told her that was not going to work because my husband and I do not go out to eat very often and so my only other option was to turn around and drive all the way back from Neosho to go pick up the rest of my food. When I got there all I was given was an apology that was very vague and no offer of any money back or any compensation of any kind I am not one that looks for freebies or anything like that but when something like that happens I feel like it’s the right thing to do to make things right and I don’t feel like I was appreciated. I was even extremely nice I could’ve been very rude to them about the whole situation but try to be the bigger person. QuickTip for this restaurant next time you mess up an order like you did mine you may want to try a little harder to keep your business I’ll be sure to share the story with all my friends and family because I’m not giving you any more of my money ever again! I’ll be sure to be taking my business to Sakur...
