Vintage Stock — Local services in Joplin

This is Vintage Stock's flagship store in good ol' Joplin Missouri. It is located in Northpark Mall on the Northwest side and was in the spot where Steve and Berry's used to be. It has the best selection of all your media needs and there several console gaming systems in stock here also! I honestly like to browse this store for nostalgic purposes, especially with video games. They have a huge Kiosk set up that allows you to play several video game consoles and my kids love using that when i'm looking around. I also noticed several people playing board games. I personally have never tried that but it seems pretty neat. They also have posters, clothing, toys, instruments, and books! I felt that prices were somewhat fair, but more importantly the items were in good shape and in stock! Very large location compared to the other Joplin location and other locations throughout region. Did not like how they displayed their CD's (see picture) compared to others - have to literally pick up every stack to browse whereas at others you can scan through quickly by looking at the spines. Selection was okay but many were either damaged or very dirty. Can't control what comes in but there should be a cleaning/vetting process before going to the floor and charging max price. Ren at the counter was awesome and very helpful. Only employee assisting customers while 4 others stood behind her prepping CD's/Games/etc. as customers lined up at the counter to check out. Ren allowed me to open the CD's I purchased to ensure everything was correct and undamaged. She then cleaned a few of them to remove surface scratches while still maintaining the other customers at the counter. Other employees didn't even bother to pick their head up or greet the customers. Ian, I believe his name was, stepped in to help eventually. This seems to be on par with the other Vintage Stock locations I have been to and where places like Half Priced Books excel. 5...

This place always has something for me. They have cool display pieces. Great comic selection, and lots of obscure and classic movies. Decent book selection, even a Manga selection. Do NOT leave your kids alone there! There are books that are mature.* Video games from all generations of consoles, emulator consoles. Cool selection on Halo, Mario, Minecraft, and a broad range of D&D and board games.

*That doesn't make the store lose any credit. Parents should be aware that their kids could be exposed to mature content.

These are gripes and advice for people going for specific items. For bulk cards, the prices have gotten so high. I miss when it was affordable to get invested in card games. Selling cards or media here isn't smart. It's a lot more profitable to go online to sell your items usually. They have great show and movie DVD selection at really cheap prices. They have awesome clearance. And the best Mario plushies. PS: ALSO! The phone number is NOT a way to get coupons. I never get them, at least.
