I wish I could give a negative star to this store or maybe Claire's. My 6-year-old daughter had her first piercing here, and it was a terrible experience.

First, the person who did the piercing was incredibly rude! She seemed in a rush to finish and go home. Considering that piercing takes less than 5 minutes, and they charge you over $93, you would think they could spend a bit more time to ensure it's done correctly.

Second, the piercing itself was awful. It was very painful and unprofessionally done. The staff showed no compassion to my daughter, who was in pain and crying. When my mom saw it, she pointed out that the piercing was too low. Unfortunately, being an easy-going person, I didn't take it seriously at the time. However, as my daughter continued to experience pain, I realized the piercing was too close to the edge of her ear, raising concerns about the possibility of her ear tearing. As a precaution, I removed the earrings to allow her ears to heal.

During a visit to another Claire's store, I showed the piercing to a store associate who confirmed that the piercing was too low and advised me to contact customer service. When I contacted customer service, they asked me to send a picture of my daughter's ear for review. After wasting my time talking with customer service, they claimed the picture showed that the placement was not low!

I am including the picture of my daughter's ear which clearly shows that the piercing is at the edge! I believe it is not unreasonable to ask for a redo of the piercing after her ear heals. It takes only 5 minutes, and yet they refuse to do it, despite it being 100 percent my right!

Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place...

Do not get your piercings done here! I went to pierce my earlobes 6 days ago and it feels and looks as though an infection is occurring. Originally when I got them pierced, I asked the piercer to guide me which size would be best for my second hole in my ear. She told me that 3mm would be good because it would look good if it was too big because it was my second piercing on that ear. I even told her that I didn’t want it to be too small. So anyway, she pierced it and now I’ve been in pain for 6 days. Today I called them to see if they can take it out for me . I was told that they do not take piercings out because of liability issues. She told me that all I had to do was pull on both ends in opposite directs really hard. I told her that I attempted that but was not successful. So I told her that I believe it was too tight and she said that it was not but the post on the 3mm jewelry that I selected was too short because I have a big earlobe. She told me that I should change it to a longer post. I asked her if I would pay for it because I was initially guided incorrectly. When I asked if there was anyone I could talk to that could help me, she immediately hung up in my face. A complaint against them has been filed because they are clearly incompetent in their work. A lot of heartache could have been saved if they pierced my 5-year-old's ears simultaneously. That's the only reason this isn't five stars. Unfortunately there was only one person available at first. But I would have been happy to wait for a duo to get it done. When it came time to do the second piercing my little girl psyched herself out, cried a bunch and we needed to take a lap and come back. On our return Tori, was quarterbacking the second piercing. My daughter started getting scared again but Tori was very sweet, understanding, and engaging with her. So in the end it was a bit traumatic but my daughter was very happy with her new piercings. The ladies in the store did their absolute best but there are so many variables in how these kids will react to a piercing, so I respect and admire their efforts.
