Kemah Crawfish Festival — Local services in Kemah

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! 1hr in traffic to move 2 miles, 35 min to park, 20 min in line on a sat. evening to find out......THE FESTIVAL IS OUT OF CRAWFISH!!! how dose that happen??? if your looking for a real crawfish festival..... go to old town spring, its done right , they don't run out and the bugs are amazing. Kemah can learn a lot from them!!!! UPDATE 2017 still the worst festival ever!!!! must be a real money maker for the city of kemah because why would the keep doing it......but here is my issue for this year. This year they took most of the parking at a public boat ramp, and had a fence that blocked 1 of the ramps making it unusable, but that's not the worst of it. the worst thing is that thy blocked off ALL THE HANDICAPPED parking at the boat ramp and made it unusable for the disabled Texans in this area. I called the city of Kemah the kemah police and even the game warden but it made no difference , they kept the parking spots blocked THIS FESTIVAL AND THIS COMMUNITY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HOW THEY TREATED THE DISABLED ALL IN THE NAME OF $$$$ all they had to do was give up 3 parking spots, but that was too much...

Two words. False advertisement.

I purchased a groupon to go to the festival about 3 weeks ago and was super excited when they had announced that they would be selling crawfish at $3.50/lb..... festival rolls around and there is no $3.50 crawfish, and instead, they are selling to-go boxes that probably have 1 to 1 1/2 lbs for $10. WHAT. THE.

I drove an hour all the way there only to be disappointed. Months of craving crawfish and the fact that I already wasted money on gas and entrance convinced me to get a $10 box.. only to be disappointed again. Crawfish lacked flavor and the box wasn't even stuffed. Plus a line to buy a box and another line to receive it? Genius idea...

Glad I came early because it started to get packed and I would've just been more disappointed. Left within 30 minutes and walked over to The Flying Dutchman who offered crawfish at $6.99/lb and they were JUMBO and wonderfully seasoned.

Never going back to this festival, even if it were...

As a vendor at this event it was awful. Promoter claims that 40k people come to this event. Less than 10k showed up. Booth prices at $450 10 X 10 after expenses barely broke even. Extremely unorganized, The promoter was taking so much money off the top there was no money left for shopping. It was stated that electricity would be provided for vendors, not even close to the amount of power needed and at 11pm it was shut off, if you have a freezer this is a big problem. Promoter had an excuse for every issue none of which were his fault. Only two vendors were return vendors from the previous year. That in itself should tell you how bad this event was. My advice to all vendors who are considering this...
