Came here for a rare, much-needed date night with my wife while my in laws were watching our 1-year old. We made a reservation online earlier today, excited for a night out. When we arrived, we said we had a reservation and gave our name. The hostess appeared confused and didn’t seem to have our reservation. No big deal-we were there early (again, parents with a babysitter) and the place was empty, with plenty of tables open. My wife found our online reservation confirmation on her phone and showed the hostess, who responded “fine. But just so you know, there is a 2 hour limit. You have to leave after 2 hours. Is that okay with you?” I was honestly confused. “Do people sit around here for 3 hours and linger or something?” But as soon as I had asked, we were whisked away to our table.
This initial interaction left a bad taste in our mouths that was unfortunately not alleviated by the food. I ordered more traditional Cuban fare (croquetas, ropa vieja) whereas my wife ordered more “adventurous”, less traditional options (pork belly appetizer, coconut snapper main). My dishes were solid but underwhelming-on par with, or slightly less tasty than Sergio’s or La Carreta-whereas my wife’s were pretty abysmal. Flavorless fish; chewy pork belly with the fat not rendered.
We were excited for our night out and excited to try this restaurant. But instead of being welcomed, we were immediately treated as hostile malingerers who had to be admonished that they’d better not stay longer than 2 hours. The wait staff was lovely, the bartenders and band were on point, so there were some glimmers of positivity. And the manager listened to our concerns and comped us our meal, which was responsive and generous. But overall, I expected better and can’t recommend this restaurant in...
Read moreWe've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a few weeks. Finally made it tonight but with the purpose of assessing for a large gathering. We met Henry as we walked in and I stated the main purpose of our visit in addition to having dinner. Henry took the time to explain the options, described the set up and took my information for the coordinator to reach as well as giving me her information. We then proceeded to our table, where we were fortunate to meet Juliette. Service was outstanding! Professional, friendly and caring! We shared an order of guacamole as well as a lechon asado. Both were flavorful and more than enough for the two of us. My husband insisted on trying the coconut rice, which was amazing. We got there just as the musicians finished playing however the music that was playing over the sound system was good music but not overbearing. Atmosphere is warm, reminding me a little of old times but with a bit of a modern vibe. Cañitas is open from 5:00 PM on, with lunch service plans in the making. We will be back on a Sunday for the nostalgic music day, which was highly recommended by both Henry...

First, a special thanks to Erick, our Cuban waiter, for his outstanding service. He was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. The entire service team deserves recognition for making the night smooth and enjoyable.
Second, the bar team was phenomenal. The mojitos and the signature “La Cañita” cocktail were bursting with flavor, the mezcal old fashioneds were perfectly crafted, and the creativity behind each drink was impressive. True cocktail artistry at its finest. My husband also enjoyed a Gordito Habano cigar, which was absolutely spectacular and paired beautifully with the drinks.
Finally, El Moro and his band delivered an amazing Cuban music show. Their energy, charisma, and talent made the entire atmosphere unforgettable and kept the vibe alive all night. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves great service, world-class cocktails, and authentic Cuban rhythms. Reviewed by: Sophia &...
