Sea Love — Local services in Kennebunkport

We booked a reservation for seven people to make candles at 3PM on a Saturday. We were running late as we're not from the area, so we called the shop ahead of time to let them know and we were met with unfriendliness. We were told we needed to be out by 4 PM to make room for the party of 11 right after us. We arrived just a few minutes after our scheduled time, genuinely apologized for our error, and were told "that's why we tell you to get here early." We would have if we could have. In addition, a "Congrats Zoe" sign for the party of 11 after us was on the counter while we made our candles - they should have waited to put that out after we finished.

We finished making candles with plenty of time to spare (we were definitely rushed through the process) and when the next party arrived they were thanked loudly for being on time, which was just unnecessary. Not sure why the party of 11 after us was so much more important than the party of 7 right in front of them.

I hope if the shop owners are ever late for an appointment that they're met with kindness and understanding, and not passive aggression the way we were. On a side note, the employee working when we picked up candles the next day was very sweet - wish we could have made...

I wish there was more than 5 stars to rate Sea Love Candles!! I have been following Stacy for years on Instagram and have been purchasing candles from her for about 2 years now. In summer of 2020, I was able to make the trip up to Maine and experience her amazing candle pouring experience on a girls trip with my mom. Not only are Stacy's candles uniquely scented (Maine Pine is my absolute favorite!) but she and Barry create such a welcoming atmosphere for their guests. They are the type of people I'd want to have over for a glass of wine! I cannot say enough about the quality of their candles. I love clean, crisp scents and Stacy has such a great selection of blends. If she doesn't have something that sounds (or smells) appealing-you can create your own! I highly recommend the candle pouring experience- I learned so much about the process of pouring a candle and some of the science behind it!

Again, I can't say enough. Sea Love Candles is such a fantastic small business...

I wish I could give Sea Love Candles more than 5 stars - they are absolutely amazing!!! Stacy, Barry, and their brand new employee (it was literally her first day and she did a wonderful job) made the experience really fun for our group. There were tons of scents to choose from, the process was easy, and it was a nice perk that we were able to swip some wine while making our candles. Not only was the candle making experience fun but so wasn’t just hanging out with Stacy and Barry along with perusing their shop. The shop included a ton of affordable and cute gifts - my friends and I compared it to Marshalls (the prices & trendy items) but wayyy better because it’s a local Maine small business full of cute handmade items from some other local businesses - what’s better than that!
