I usually write reviews that are positive but I am compelled to let people know about this experience due to the lack of service and management follow up, which is very surprising for the caliber of other Kennebunkport Resort Collection hotels, and could very well ruin a future guest stay.|We made a last minute reservation for the night of 11/14/23 and were pleasantly surprised by the room, the location and the view. Unfortunately it all went downhill after that. |After 4 pm there is no personnel at the resort until breakfast at 8:00 am the next morning and if complications arise you are to call or text a phone number to get assistance. During the night, our toilet suddenly stopped working and we were unable to flush, so looking for someone to fix this matter and waiting until 8am was most definitely problematic. No one was onsite! We were eventually offered the use of a bathroom in a different room after I pleaded the urgency of using a bathroom after waiting for so many hours! The young woman, the only staff on site, later said she had talked to her manager and wanted to offer us another free night to make up for the inconvenience of not having a bathroom and the resulting sub par experience. She said the manager would be contacting us before the end of the day. When the guest services manager Annastacia Opasinki did, her "free night" offer was coming back and paying the same price we had paid for the room. Which incidentally there are lower rates to be found online. This was a very disappointing experience and I would definitely consider staying at a fully staffed elsewhere before...
Read moreMy husband, our dog, and I had a very nice stay here. The front staff was very friendly each day and very helpful with any questions we had. I appreciate that they took a moment to love on our dog and offered him treats. The rooms were clean, centrally located on the marina, and close to the village. It was all of a 5 minute walking distance to the start of “downtown”. The views of the bay/marina were serene and relaxing. We saw many types of birds, local boats without there being any disturbances. |The room was spacious, ac was great, bed/pillows were ok, and great view off the patio with a comfortable seating area. |We appreciated the snack bar that offered some light snacks and beverages. |Only changes I would suggest as a dog friendly hotel, is to offer some bigger bowls for “bigger” dogs and extra towels for dogs. Their website also states for dog friendly rooms they include food, water bowls, bark-worthy treats, and handy waste bags to ensure they have a comfortable stay. It’s a little misleading. Food? Not sure what they mean by that. Besides at the checking in desk, there are no treats. I didn’t see any waste bags except at the park next door. And the bowls we had in the room held about a cup of food/water which our 75lb dog made a mess of… sorry… and had to use bath towels to clean up the water spill. Next time I’ll def bring my own bowls! This is just me nit picking as a dog owner! Also a reference list of dog friendly places would be awesome! |All in all, we really liked it here and will...
Read moreUpdate: Management staff reached out to apologize and let us know they would refund us, which I thought was really kind and helped take the sting out of how little value we received. However, the refund was never processed, even after I followed up. Kind of weird and disorganized to reach out and offer a refund, only to never follow through on it. :/
Mixed feelings about this place. Overall, I feel like we overpaid for a mediocre stay.
The room was clean and very cute. Best part was the view of the boats - we were fortunate to watch a spectacular sunset from our little 'yard'. However, a light bulb burnt out, the handle to the bathroom was broken, and the handle in the shower was broken. Hot water was questionable - I couldn't get warm water out of the sink at all.
Also, the amenities were seriously lacking. They had maybe 8 adult bikes for everyone in the place, and at least 4 of them were broken (missing handles, etc). You should definitely make plans to get breakfast elsewhere, which is a shame when the rooms are running $500+ a night.
That being said, the staff were very nice and friendly. Location is 5 stars.
Overall, I'll be choosing a different spot the next time...
