California Nails — Local services in Kenosha

Called to see if any openings were available/ is there someone who can do my nails right now/ do I need to make an appointment .. ect. He said yes and to just walk in as if there were plenty of nail technicians there (I’m in a bit of a rush) which there wasn’t because I waited almost 20 minutes for someone to do my nails.. I wanted a regular (not acrylic) gel polish manni and we had some language barriers unfortunately so first she started to shave my nails down as if I were getting acrylic.. was brought over to the back and then she thought to just paint my nails.. I asked her about my cuticles and she said oh then we go back over here where she was just trying to shave the tops on my nails down and so I finally got my hands manicured and then comes the gel polish, now I don’t know about you but I’ve had beginners do my nails WAY MORE FLAWLESS than the hackjob that she did on mine. She was very nice so I gave her a five dollar tip anyway and what’s even worse about all of that is it costed me $38 just for the services! I’m so confused and upset that this is what $38 got me at California nails. Side note you can see where she cut me on my thumb too. Again very nice lady but idk if she was rushing or what but I didn’t wanna be that person that points out all her mistakes and I was trying to wait until the end but at that point I’ve had my nails put under the light so many times now. And when I asked her about something random just making small talk she said” you don’t like them?” Like ommg I wish I would have went somewhere else because she clearly didn’t have her stuff together. I could not wait to get home to write this review! Now I went to get a fill I usually ONLY have Lisa do my nails but she wasn't there. The only one there I believe her name was Sally. She did a HORRIBLE job on my nails I paid $25 for a fill with a no chip my nails are super think and lumpy out of shape. I was in a hurry I had to pick my kids up from school. So I was just gonna leave it how it was until my no chip polish started coming all the way off!!! 😡 Now I'm really pissed my money went to waste. So I go back and let them know and said I want my money back they said no so I said well you should fix this mess!!! They only fixed the 2 nails that the polish came off of but I asked for them to file my nails down so they are not so thick and to make them squared like I asked. They refused to do so! But Lisa said just come to her only for now on. Which I will if I ever decide to go back in the future. I'm very angry they feel they can take customers money but don't even try to do a good job. They do what they feel it's sad I waste my gas time and money. But thank you lisa...

When I arrived I was put in a chair and was told to soak my feet. I was left there for a least a half hour or so. Finally a lady came and started my pedicure. It was going okay until it was time to paint my toes. I wanted gel and the lady didn’t know how to apply gel so for some reason I was moved to one of the manicure chairs (where I waited about 20 minutes) very confused. A man walked up I believe it was the owner I’m not sure though asked what I was getting done. I explained what happened and that I just wanted gel on my toes. He then got on his knees and began to paint them. When he was finished I paid and went on my way upset about the situation. This happened February 13th today it is February 17th and on two toes the nail polish completely came off!!! Mind you Gel is supposed to last up to two weeks or more.
