I have had to use modern apothecary twice and I will do everything in my power to not have to use them again. My vet had sent me to MA to get compounded meds for my cat because the vet isn't allowed to do it in office anymore. There is 2 medications that my cat needs from MA. One is Cisapride and the other is Methimazole. The first time I purchased the 2 meds, they asked if I would like them chicken flavored and they sent the cisapride chicken flavored so that was good but the methimazole came compounded with large chunks still throughout the liquid, it was given to me in a bottle so tall that the syringe wasn't long enough to even get it out. It was a nightmare the entire couple months. Then just recently, I had to make another order so my vet sent over the prescription and I called them to ask if instead of the methimazole could come in a pill form due to the terrible nature of the first methimazole so they had to call my vet for confirmation. I did let them know I needed this medicine soon as he had just had his last dose. Next day, haven't heard back, so I called my vet and they let me know they did call and approve the meds. Great!! However, they will not compound a medicine unless it's paid for first so I waited for their call (as they said they would call as soon as they got word for my vet)... I waited... waited... finally I called before they closed and the girl on phone had no idea I was even supposed to get the phone call... I paid and was told the next business day, I could pick up after 5pm. Great, I've already been pushed back a day and now have to wait another day... went to pick up the meds yesterday, and the pharmacist wasn't around when I needed to know the directions of the new medication since it's pill form. My cat always got 0.1ml methimazole and the pill said each one was 1ml. Quite the difference, right? I was told by front desk that "it should be okay"... should? That's a very interesting word to use when it can mean life or death for my kitty. I get home, give the full pill and then went to give him his cisapride suspension and go figure, they never put the chicken flavoring in it, so it was just a very rough chemical taste. My poor cat. I did leave a voicemail saying I wanted to bring it back so they can add the chicken flavor since I was specifically asked what flavor I would like and I'm still waiting on a phone call. I begged my vet to find me a different place for these medicines after the first visit, they went through hoops and still couldn't find a different place for me. I was really hoping the 2nd time would be better but it was only worse... I would not recommend...

I called and they tell me all my prescriptions are ready but 1, then I get here and this woman tells me that they only have 5 of one of my other medications, did I want the 5 they had? I said yeah I guess, & then she walks away as if she's going to grab the 5 they have, but then this woman starts doing other stuff. Opening packages and helping 2 other customers. Which if she had to wait a few minutes for the 5 to be filled that's fine but why not communicate that to me?.... I didn't receive a call so at 1:50 I called them to see if it was ready. They said it was so I told them I was on my way and they said ok. Before I hung up with them I confirmed that I would be able to get my meds and told them where I was and everything. They said that would be fine. When I got there they were closed.
