I Bought a rocking swivel recliner for my handicaped daughter. She loves rocking and spinning. Its one of the few things she can do as she is seriously disabled. The chairs lower rocking swivel mech fell apart in around 18 mos. but we had the 5 year warrenty. It took three weeks for the warranty company to come out and even look at the chair even though they knew it was perhaps the most important piece of furniture in our living room.and even though I sent 5 excellent pictures of the problems. The bushings failed and was squeeking horrible and leaving dirty greasy metal filings all around the chair. Finally they said they would give me like $137.00 if I wanted to keep the chair or I could go back to total furniture and get another chair for a swap at the cost of the orig chair which was a little under $400.00 including the warrenty. So off to the store we went. However when I got there they only had one chair in the entire store. and I dont mean one in our price range. I mean only one swivel rocking recliner in the whole friggen store. It was a monster of a chair. Way to huge and 200 bucks more then the one to be replaced. nothing to order. Nothing available period. Either take that one or nothing. I was totally dissapointed. and the sales people looked at me like it was my fault I needed a swivel chair. They said people dont buy swivel chairs anymore.The only other chair they had that would swivel was this little thing with a cheap mech that im sure wont last. Doesnt recline and looks like it was made for a child. Needless to say i feel like my daughter got screwed. The first time I bought furniture there it fell apart the second time I went there I got the warrenty. That in my opinion was nothing more then a waste of 50 bucks. the store had one option take the chair or go away..... Nice job total furniture. Great selection too. I will never go there again. you folks should be totally ashamed At your service. Totally discusted with total furniture. If youre looking for a company that has a good selection and stands behind there product dont go here. Avoid this place at all cost. After reading lots of reviews I agree with the rudness and negative attititude they display. It was noted the first time i went there and I should have never gone back. Im sure in response they will try to find a way to explain how it was anybodys fault but theres. sorry not buying It. When you realized you couldnt replace my broken furniture because of a lack in inventory you should have refunded my money. Its just that simple it would have been the right thing to do.........6 hours later After reading your reply below............I am even more appalled. Making it sound like we couldnt find anything that (felt right) is garbage. You only had one chair that was mechanically the same. One chair. And your people told me nothing could be ordered. And to say if you would have known of my concern. O my god. You need to put the conflict resolution script down. We made our concern known from start to finish. Perhaps some sales training for your staff might be in order. You can spin this any way you want to make it seem to the public that you did everything to help us. but in fact you did nothing. As for finding out about it on google well if you had opened up your ears when I said im not happy. Or this wont work. Or this isnt right well then maybe it wouldnt be on google. You took advantage of us. Again its just that simple... . Update ...update...update. well just like i figured the chair they provided me has failed. The spring mech which is garbage and i told them would fail because it was cheap has indeed done exactly that. about 4 weeks into this new chair and the springs have failed. My daughter tipped backward and fell into the floor. So disgusted. will drag the chair out back and set it on fire tomorrow. Thanks for ripping us off. My daughter if she could speak would prob get her mouth washed out with soap for what i can only imaging she is thinking. Read moreThe buying experience went great. HOWEVER. We paid for a couch ahead of time and had it ordered in November. Waited over a month for it to arrive in their store. We paid a delivery charge to have it delivered. That is fine. However, the support board inside the couch snapped after having it a little over a month ; and they had it assessed and contacted the manufacturer and now we are already into April and I don't have my replacement couch. I get the call that it is in, and here we are with trying to charge me to have it exchanged and I cannot afford that and was told it would be taken care of. So you want me to strap my NEW couch onto the roof of my car, bring it home since I do not own a truck, pull the one you need to send back to the manufacturer out, strap and lift that onto my car with the risk of it falling off and bring it back???? I don't have a lot of people with a truck who can help me get it..Then you want to charge me $65 yet again? After I have waited patiently and understanding your obstacles?? After being told it would be redelivered and swapped out? That is not customer service to me. That is being cheap. I should not have to pay to have my defective product redelivered again and then pay also for you to get the other one back. Think about the inconvenience on OUR end for that $65 cost. It isn't our fault it was poorly made so why should we have to keep paying money out for it when we could have taken our business elsewhere for the time and inconvenience this has caused. Not to mention, being rude about it instead of understanding. More worried about your personal business that you have to do like our concerns aren't important after we have waited a very long time. I have been more than patient with your business and understanding but I am not pleased with this AT ALL. I already spoke with customer service about this and it was anything but service. More like excuses and in a hurry to leave on personal business than take care of this, getting upset at us because we are "inconveniencing" you. Yeah, that is so professional. I am NOT happy about this at all. I was really angry when I left the building today. If this is not settled I will NOT ever come here again. I am usually not one to leave these kinds of reviews unless the service is absolutely horrible and let me say this situation has been problematic for us. I am only rating two stars because again, this is on hold and its going to be at least waiting til the end of the week to even find out if someone can deliver this and make this right. Read moreFor the past 35 or more years, I, along with my parents have purchased from Total Furniture an abundance of living room and bedroom furniture. Unfortunately, Total has no way of tracking past customers by their name as their non-computerized filing system is by invoice number. So suffice it to say it would be difficult for Total to capture the names of repeat and loyal customers. About 2 years ago, I purchased from Total a footboard, headboard, rails, mattress, box spring and chest of drawers. Within the past 2 months, both feet of the headboard cracked at the base. It should be noted the feet are separate from the headboard as they are affixed to the headboard with screws and dowels. I went to the store and inquired about getting two (2) replacement feet knowing full well that I would have to pay for them because the one year warranty had expired. Shortly after, I was notified by the store that the manufacturer no longer makes the product nor are any parts available. I then wrote the owner about my dissatisfaction. I received a phone call from a woman. As I wrote in my letter, I asked the woman if I were to buy another bed frame assembly from Total, would I be given a price concession. The woman said no and stated "We have the cheapest prices in town." I then simply said OK and hung up. Apparently Total doesn't give a hoot about loyal Total Furniture customers. The woman could have offered me a bed frame assembly at their cost. They obviously don't believe or care in maintaining customer goodwill. I will no longer do any business with Total Furniture. I will also tell my two young sons to purchase their furniture...
