Five Guys — Restaurant in Pleasant Prairie

I am a Door Dasher here in Kenosha and I got an order to pick up at five guy, on arriving one of the staff attended to me timely and told me he’s preparing the order and I said ok and step aside to wait. While waiting another staff made me the drink that is included in the order and I said thank you to him and I continued waiting for the rest of the order.

While waiting, a lady walked up to the first guy who attend to me and started telling him some kind of story or whatever. I saw that the guy stood there so engrossed in the story and she was laughing and enjoying her story, and for a second he tried to bag one of the orders while listening to her. Also, the second guy who made me the drink went closer to listen to whatever story the lady was telling the other guy—mind you I was still standing there waiting.

I felt very concerned that the lady was distracting the first guy working on getting my order ready on-time with her story so I talked from where I was standing saying “ could you guys attend to me”? Then the lady walked up to me with a straight face and said 👉 “ we are waiting for the fries to be ready, we have to make it when you get here and you will need to wait 1–2 minutes for your order to be ready” , and she walked away with an attitude.

I said she is rude to the guy who walked close me after I complained though, because of the tune in her response to me.

Her story stopped and everyone went back to what they were doing after I complained, and I heard her complaining to one of the guys about what I said bla bla, so I talked back at her from where I was standing saying “you need to speak to me with some respect “ and boom she blow up on my face yelling. She asked me to leave the store, took the drink from the table that was for the order and said I am not picking up that order, that she is the manager. I told her i don’t care, I just need my order and request that she speak to me with respect. And she say she was going to call the policy and I was like go ahead. I went ahead to say “you want to call the police to arrest me because I ask you to speak to me with respect? Or because I complain of my order being delayed? I then asked her again “is it because I am BLACK? And she responded by calling me “a racist” I told her I’m not.

She called the police and I have no idea what she told them because I was surprised to see four police cars and officers. I called DoorDash and told them what happened and stayed back at the store to answer and tell my side of the story what happened in the store.

NB: she asked the two guys who witnessed everything not to say a word and they all left their service point and disappeared when the police came. I know their faces and can identify them in case asked to identify them.

The police perfectly understood the situation, the call was not necessary. The name of the manager who displayed this unprofessional attitude/behavior is Ashley working at 9330 75th St pleasant prairie. This incident happened today in above address March 3rd around 4:46 PM — 5:20 PM, the time may not be accurate but it’s between that time period.

NB: the police officer who spoke to me said the manager Ashley as requested me to never go to that store “Five Guys” so he asked me to reach out to a higher manager to resolve it so I can continue picking up food in that particular store. He knows she overreacted and he gave me that advice.

DoorDash is investigating the incident and for my safety I will not go to that store because she may harm me if she sight me in the store. I have also informed DoorDash to remove me from the store.

I had to even post this review anonymously because Ashley may trace me to my house with my name showing on this review to hurt me. This is how unsafe I feel from how Ashley the manager working in Five Guys treated me today.

This is such a poor attitude/behavior for a business. Apparently, she would walk anyone out from the restaurant who dare to complain of their food/order...

Don't know what it is about a Five Guys burger & fries but since the very first time trying which was the Gurnee location back in '09 which is closest to my house, has always remained #1 in taste for me. I always come with an empty stomach just so I can order my double cheeseburger + an extra pattie.

With the high quality of food and pricing, I consider FG to be a high-end burger joint and there's plenty of other similar chain competitors that use fresh prepared meat as well with the likes of Smashburger, BurgerFi, Shake Shack, In-n-Out, American Wildburger, Meatheads, Whataburger, Epic Burger and even Culver's which is mid-priced which I do love also can do battle.

When it comes to taste, it really is what you like and to each his/her own. I have yet to explore and discover other chains that may be limited to certain other states or regions in this country as well as popular local-owned venues and hole-in-the-wall type gems. But for nearly 14 years now, this taste still reigns supreme over any place I've been.

At FG it's not just the burgers & fresh cut fries I love but indeed the overall vibe, the peanuts, the flamboyance of the employees at many locations when they see you entering the door, spiffy clean dining area surrounded by food critics' comments and of course for me: a double cheeseburger with an extra pattie, extra cheese slice, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce, ketchup, mustard & mayo, some fresh cut bad boys with both ketchup & malt vinegar for dipping and wash it down with a Coke........MMM MMM MMM, love it!!

Regardless of the inflating food prices nationwide which started with the COVID crisis and eventually the minimum wage increase, I still have to make my way to my favorite burger & fries from time to time regardless of location and please keep cooking up that awesome grub and keep up the exceptional customer...

First and last time ever going there. I walked in and ordered 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 drinks, and a shake(order number 46). My total came out to be $34.xx and I handed the young black man(not racist, he just wasn’t wearing a name tag) a $20 and 3 $5. He took my money behind the register then proceeded to tell me that I was $5 short. I kept telling him to let me re count it but instead he would count the money out for me until my boyfriend pulled the money from his hands, they people behind us even said something and he finally gave in and told us “uhh uhh sorry” but you could tell he was intentionall trying to scam my $5. After that the man who took my order went to go make my shake and we waited for our food. They gave us our food and we had to ask about our shake and a different gentleman told us they were cheacking the “condition of the strawberries they had.” We waiting a whole 8 minutes when the gentleman told us only 5. When the shake came out it was white with barely any strawberries and no whipped cream and it was insanely watered down. I went and asked for a refund and the young black gentleman proceeded to ask me what was wrong with it and gave me a little hard time about the refund offering a remake instead. I finally got my refund. I should have been refunded for the whole order, worst service I’ve ever...
