Went to Costco the first time in my entire life. Idk if other locations are the same but never had I faced racism in my life until I stepped into Costco. Right at the enterence, was asked for membership card when 2-3 group ahead of me and after me just walked in. Later while checkout, again the lady asked only me for member id, then then she came and stood besides me the entire time while scanning. I had to pay cash and the bill was $209.01, I gave them 210, she gave me 99 cents back without even asking me if I had the 1 cent. I asked her to keep the change instead she told me we don't do that. Later called someone and insisted she needs to count the items in cart for no reason. It's like they are in constant fear that customers are stealing while not everyone but me being brown skin, was asked everytime for id and was treated very disrespectful. Later while walking out with cart after paying, another lady at door asked for id and receipt of payment. Wow, never in my life I had faced such racism, never in my life I stole merchandise from anyone worth even a single penny. Shopped at PicknSave, Woodmans, Walmart 1000s of times, never was treated this way. It's like they are doing us a favor by letting us shop from there even when we are the ones paying for membership id.
When I reached home first thing I did was to cancel my membership and decided to never go again. Atleast not to Kenosha one.
Highly unprofessional, rude, racist and unethical employees. If this same story was posted by an influencer online, they surely would've fixed themselves but fortunately I don't get paid to lie hence don't have any reach than to add a review. If you believe this is personal, look at my other reviews, never did I accuse anyone of racism as I never faced until yesterday. Highly disappointed. What's the point of keeping so many "brown people products" to attract us but you don't respect us at all in reality. Thanks but will stick to other stores instead. Selfrespect and customer service is more important for me than saving pennies.
I don't even hope that management takes some action as I don't expect any improvement based on how the employees are trained by the management itself to treat us....
Read moreIâm beyond disappointed with the level of service I've received from Costcoâs Hearing Aid Department â especially considering I spent nearly two thousand dollars on hearing aids for my mother. Youâd think after that kind of investment, getting basic maintenance supplies like filters and domes/plugs would be straightforward. Unfortunately, itâs anything but.
Every time I go in to request replacement filters or plugs, I get hassled. Itâs like pulling teeth. Iâve been questioned, limited, and treated as if Iâm trying to scam the system for a few pieces of plastic. Let me be clear: these parts are essential for the continued functionality of the hearing aids, especially for someone like my mother who happens to produce more earwax than average â something that is both common and medical, not a character flaw.
Nowhere in the contract, documentation, or any communication at the time of purchase was there any mention of limits or restrictions on getting replacements. If there were such policies, I would expect them to be communicated clearly at the point of sale â not sprung on us later through gatekeeping at the service desk.
What makes it worse is that not all locations behave this way. The Costco in West Bend has consistently been helpful and accommodating. They understand that hearing aids require ongoing upkeep and they donât make a big deal out of handing out the supplies necessary for them to work properly. Their staff treats you like a human being. Itâs a shame other locations canât do the same.
Costco is supposed to be known for good customer service â but that clearly does not extend to the hearing aid department at certain locations. Youâd think after spending thousands, theyâd want to make it easy to keep the devices functioning. Instead, they make you feel like a burden for simply trying to maintain the product you...
Read moreOkay, time for a real, straight to the point, and matter of fact review! Where do we begin?
Letâs start with the pros. Like the nice variety of organic products, and the fact that they offer a great variety of updated books/novels. Which if your a book nerd like myself, you definitely would appreciate that.
NextâŚthe staff seem okay. Granted the lady at the door takes her job mightyyy seriously! Meaning if your hubs has the card and you walk in 5 seconds before him, she will immediately start yelling, âMAâAM!!â Which is a tad embarrassing. Considering my husband is literally right behind me! So ya, proceed with caution if you forgot your card or are not the card holder when you walk in đ
This actually leads me to the cons. Which is thisâŚthe need to show your card not once, not twice, but three flipping times! Seriously, is it necessary?!? You obviously canât buy anything without the card. So chill out Costco!
That and if the real concern is you are worried someone will buy for someone without a membership⌠cmon!!! If someone is going to do that, they are going to figure out a way. At the end of the day, your still making your money though.
Which leads to my final point and issue. If you need a Costco card to check out (you canât even begin scanning before you scan a membership card), then whatâs the deal with needing to flash your card at the doorâŚ.and then AGAIN right before you walk to the register! đ¤Śđťââď¸
Please stop bombarding everyone over their Costco card! Learn from Samâs Club and chill out a bit!
Donât worry, your not losing me over this. But let me tell ya, itâs beyond obnoxious!! Also, I know I'm not alone in this. So many are sick of it! Even the workers thinks...
