A family member held an event at Iguana Wana and the location is very nice. I have food allergies and I don't like to inconvenience restaurants, so often I eat before I come to events and stick with something small and safe when I'm there. Nothing on the menu offered for the event was safe for me, so I asked instead if I could just get a side order of guacamole. Before ordering this I asked just to make sure there was no dairy/eggs in the guacamole as I was allergic to both. The waiter acknowledged the allergies and told me the ingredients of the guacamole and confirmed there was no dairy.
After eating the guacamole I started feeling sick but didnt think much of it till I got home and my husband noticed my face and tongue were swelling up. I called our doctor's office who instructed me to call the restaurant and ask again what was in the guacamole so we did and the restaurant confirmed they had put sour cream in the guacamole. I ended up having a very rough rest of the night dealing with allergic reactions. I would obviously not recommend the restaurant or eat here again, but I would advise anyone else to be careful eating here as well as they didn't seem to take allergies very seriously. I added a star to my review because I did appreciate the restaurant owning up to the mistake after I called. It was helpful being able to identify to my doctor's office what I ate that caused the reaction, however I really wish they would have been honest from the beginning and saved me a lot of discomfort and a visit to the doctor.
*In response to the owners comment about never including dairy in the guacamole, the restaurant staff CONFIRMED they had put sour cream in the guacamole when I called after getting sick. If this is not in the usual recipe, then I'm confused to why the staff admitted they added it in? I had suspected it was possibly just some cross contamination since near the bottom of the bowl of guacamole there was a white streak. (I stopped eating it after I noticed this because I assumed maybe they just hadn't cleaned their materials) but if the sour cream was added intentionally to an order of someone with a dairy allergy, I would use extreme caution eating at this restaurant for customers with allergies. I personally would not risk...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! Iguana Wana fraudulently charged my debit card and will not reimburse us until they get the other separate party to come forward and pay for their under charge. My wife and I shared the Floutas, each had one beverage and our daughter ordered the pb&j. When the waitress brought the bill, she showed the card reader total for $30.28. I gave her my card. She said the card reader had some issue and she needed to manually type my card in. (Or steal my info?) She then handed me the card reader back to sign. She then went to the next separate party and collected their bill in cash. Their bill was for $92.52. When I got home, she retroactively charged my debit card $92.52. I have been back to the establishment mutiple times to talk with Pat Patterson the owner and chase his son and manager. Even though they have verified through surveillance footage of what my family ordered compared with what we were charged, they will not correct the charge to me until they get ahold of the separate party and have then compensate for their under payment. This is flat out THEFT! I am sure the other party will never come forward as this either was a mistake on businesses part, or a flat out theft by the waitress, and they paid their bill in full in cash. Which I also am not ruling out. Do not go here unless you want to risk erroneous charges after the fact to your card. Iguana Wana will never get our business again!
Edit:update: Alicia Patterson, I don’t believe you at all. You have stopped responding to my inquiries about when this will be resolved. You flat out stole from me. I should not have to wait for you to recoup your error from a different party. This is straight up criminal! You will never get my business back . And I hope that others will heed this warning and stay away from your corrupt business. This could have easily been resolved a month ago by reimbursing me for the fraudulent charge. This is unacceptable and I see why your other restaurants...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I recently dined here for our anniversary, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We had made a reservation to sit on the bar side at 7 PM, but upon arrival, we were seated outside instead. Although it wasn't what we requested, we decided to let it go and enjoy the evening.
Our server, who had a snake tattoo, was less than courteous. While taking our orders, she kept correcting my girlfriend, who is a native Spanish speaker. I found this to be quite rude and inappropriate. We understand that servers don't have the easiest job, so we tried to be patient, but the service continued to disappoint.
When our food arrived, my burrito was cold, and my girlfriend's enchiladas were far from enjoyable. To make matters worse, she had ordered three enchiladas but received only one, and we were still charged for all three. After finishing our meal, we waited a long time for our server to bring the check, but she had disappeared. We eventually got up and went to the front to pay, where we were rudely instructed to return to our table after already waiting quite a while for assistance.
Even though the service was subpar, I still chose to tip out of courtesy. To top off the evening, when I asked a different server to take a picture of us, she held up my phone and waited for 10 seconds before rudely asking us to tell her when to stop. It felt like even the smallest gesture of politeness was too much to ask for at this restaurant.
As a veteran, I was hoping for a pleasant anniversary dinner, but we left feeling disrespected and dissatisfied. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place to others, as our experience was marred by poor service and lackluster food.
After loooking at some of the bad review it seems like they give the same answers to all of them I am hoping the actually response to my concerns to show that the care about my review
Notice on the photo attached that it’s the same response just...
