BuyWander- Kent — Local services in Kent

I’m new to using the BuyWander site and wanted to share my honest experience. The staff are friendly, easy to work with, and quickly processed refunds for a couple of items while I was standing there, which I really appreciated since I drove 45 minutes to get there.

However, it’s important to know that when you go to pick up your items, you really need to open every package, check all the parts, and test anything you can right there—basically before you leave the parking lot.

They have a very short 7-day return policy, and that clock starts when the auction closes, not when you pick up your order. That makes it hard if you don’t live close by, because by the time you pick up on day 3 or 4, you might have almost no time left to return an item if there’s a problem. Anything that needs to be assembled is a big risk with the limited amount of time to return the item.

I’ve purchased a few things here. One of my items was listed as “appears new,” but it had been previously assembled incorrectly, was missing parts, and the manufacturer couldn’t provide replacements—so that one was a loss. While I was there, I also saw staff tell two other customers they couldn’t find their purchased items. In another case, what I bought as a “banjo” turned out to be a guitar. It seems many listings use Amazon stock photos without verifying what’s actually in the box.

Overall: Friendly and cooperative staff but the process needs better item verification and a more practical return policy. If you shop here, inspect everything carefully before you leave to avoid frustration later. Business has potential. I would say only purchase items that you can inspect quickly.

Of the seven items I have purchased:

Labeled as Appeared new but missing parts, assembled incorrectly before being returned and sold by Buywander. Had to eat the cost. Labeled as Appeared new - Did not match the photos.- Returned on the spot. When I arrived the items was totally a different item. They refunded but it was the item I wanted the most. Every single "appears new" thing I have bought, has been either broken or just doesn't work. Make sure to open immediately and test. Slushie machine, doesn't even chill, tv unit came all cracked and broken, said it was black, but it is grey. I told my co worker about the site (when I was excited about it) and she bought a sectional. We all saw it, we all read the description...she gets rid of her old couch, rents a uhaul, goes to pick it up and they claimed it was just the ottomon!!! Unreal, we were all witnesses to the listing.
