Perfect. I already have electrolyte issues, so I was glad to know IVs in the Keys was here. I saw it before we came, and was hoping I would not need it. Buuuuuut, I did. I had had a meal that did not sit well and was just getting worse and worse. I had zofran and that didn't help. I tried to get some rest (along w/water) and that did not help. My husband called them at 4:45 and asked if they were still open, and Danette (I think) said she would call the staff and tell them to stay open since he needed to bring me over. I was so grateful! Michael is a travel nurse, so he won't be there much longer, but he was the one who took care of me. There were two women getting IVs (and taking selfies of themselves) when we got there, so at least I wasn't the one who was making Michael wait. Michael asked some questions to find out what I needed. . .he asked about zofran and I told him that no, I had already taken some, but that now that my body was going through both chills and being hot, I knew I was in trouble. I initially said I just needed to be bagged, but he said he could add vitamins. I know all about this because of some major medical issues, and already take B12 injections. I know that adding the B vitamins along with C and the magnesium was the right way to go. He prepped the bag and was great about inserting the IV. Learned he had served on hospital IV teams, and his skill showed. I've had numerous IVs over the years and had quite a few "misses" since I have such small, uncooperative veins (I've been told). No problem here, and that was welcome because the last thing you want on vacation is to feel lousy and not even have your own bed to crawl into. I felt well enough that I could go back to the B&B, shower, and enjoy a light dinner. Highly recommend for those who have medical issues and then have really overdone it. And even though the bag of saline with the vitamins cost more, it was worth it. I'd much rather enjoy my time on vacation...
Read moreAmidst the chaos and stress that is Key West during Fantasy Fest, and the travel troubles we had that consumed the greater part of the prior day/evening to get here, we were able to find serenity and peace at the IV In The Keys that first morning of our trip. I hadnât slept in 24 hours and felt completed depleted of life force, and it wasnât even from alcohol! So how could I even begin to jump into the festivities my first day here of a week to come? Well here is how. When walking in I was taken in by how clean, organized and professional the space was. You can clearly see the medical grade equipment and supplies, but despite that cold hospital feeling that usually accompanies such implements that feeling was broken up by the large comfy massage chairs and more importantly the warmth radiating off of Kristi as soon as she greeted us. She was all business when evaluating our current condition and quickly calculating what we would need to get us in tip top shape. All the while being caring, attentive and kind. After settling my nerves of the needles (despite being covered in tattoos Iâd rather be punched in the face!) it was over before you knew it and I was settled into the chair being massaged away hooked into the IV as if I was my very own iPhone plugged into my rapid charger. Kristi remained engaged as she discussed the ins and outs of sun exhaustion, being overworked in general, run down from traveling and what to do about it on a day to day basis. She not only had us well informed, revitalized but belly laughing/face full of smiles as we walked out the door that morning ready to conquer the week of Fantasy Fest...
Read moreI stopped in and spoke with Kristi and Morgan about the muscle pain I was feeling in my legs from walking around Key West for a couple of days and also about feeling dehydrated. They asked specific questions to determine what was going on and recommended an IV with some vitamins to replenish what I was likely lacking. Kristi set me up, and when she inserted the needle, I barely felt it. The IV drip took about 30 minutes. When it was finished, and I stood up and started walking, I felt like a new person. The muscle pain was gone, and I felt total relief. I would recommend IVâs in the Keys on Whitehead to everyone. The establishment is clean and the staff I met with were professional and friendly. I even got recommendations on places to go to for food and entertainment. If youâve been thinking about trying an IV, do it! You wonât be...
