I'd give this place a negative review if I could. I dropped my Scion FR-S off for repairs, an engine repair specifically, and paid 5.5k. $4000 of it was labor, and $1100 was parts. The rest of it was tax and an upcharge fee for using a credit card. I don't know if the mechanics here are lazy or incompetent - perhaps both. They didn't fix my car 100% . . . The main problem I had before was an oil leak, and the car was burning oil, which gave that burning oil scent. They at least sealed the oil leak and cleaned the residue of burnt oil and some of the parts. They replaced all the gaskets, o rings, seals, sparkplugs, water pump, and some other small miscellaneous things. What they didn't do was fix the check engine light that I still have.
I still have codes: P0171 P0140 P2096
All those still need fixing. They did not change the mass air flow sensor, they did not properly seal the air filter - along with not replacing it, they did not refill my coolant which was embarrassingly low on and their diagnostic billing report said they checked and leveled ALL fluids . . . The only thing I declined was the exterior trim. That was an additional 3.5 grand, but I would not be surprised if they made the argument of, "Sir we only agreed to work on your engine," yeah and I also requested to fix anything that could clear my check engine light. If they founded additional problems that they could have at least just told me or consentually asked permission to fix those through a phone call or a text . . . They clearly followed some sort of procedure, that or a terrible miscommunication just brushed by.
Don't even get me started having me wait 20 minutes just to pick up my car. They can't even tell if I paid prior or not, they had to get a couple of managers just to read through a system. It was overall a bad experience, and I would recommend anyone to get their car fixed here if you hate yourself and want to be stuck in a financial strait. The thing that upsetted me the most was that they did not offer a payment plan, nor have any to offer to anyone. I'd probably be less stressed out if I could pay a portion per month but to make me go break bank. But no . . .
Because of this experience and other car repair places I have visited before, I have severe trust issues now. They overprice labor and parts and still never fully fix all the issues, thus still leaving me a problem to worry about. I hate to be a Karen about it, but this incident among other stressful stuff that I needed to contend with the car and life outside, just only piled on. Honestly, my frustration could be lessened a lot if they just have a payment plan for people who have to budget. How they not have such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only reason I'm giving a two star review is because the service manager made my ordeal right and techs seem good. Otherwise, after three instances of having to deal with this dealership I feel yucky and very put off. Let's start with the only good... It's clear their priority goes into tech training rather than service advisor training, often times with big jobs there's come backs, all my services were done right the first time. Love that for me. First one serviced was my truck. That went over fine. It was a 30k service. Not difficult. Second was my husbands truck. It has over 100k and it needed tires. I went in and told them I wanted all the services and we picked out tires, they quoted me a final price, and I prepaid for the tires, they overcharged me. They said we would be compensated on the overcharge reflected when we came back in for all the services. Spoiler alert, we didn't. They did half of what I wanted and tried to upsale me the other services I wanted for like another grand. Absolutely not. And then Victor, the advisor tried lying and saying I said I only wanted specific services, what he said didn't even make sense if you've been in the business for any amount of time. In the end the service manager made it right, did the services I said i wanted for the price I was quoted. So now that my truck needs a diagnosis, I called to schedule it and hung up and felt yucky, called right back to cancel. The advisor I talked to quoted me 200 for a diagnosis!!!! I've never seen or charged such a price, so I asked him to break it down for me and his best answer was, "well depending on difficulty level we charge that price." Ok.... my concern is not going to be a difficult diagnosis. Not 200.00 worth. But after the experience last time where Victor tried to lie and say I said things I didn't, I knew this experience would go the same. I've already called the next closest dealership, Don Ringer Toyota and they quoted me 99.00 and thought a 200.00 quote was laughable. And I'm already ten times more pleased with the service. Just start there instead of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased a 2023 Toyota Crown Limited Hybrid, Metallic Gray from Toyota of Killeen on 11/02/23. I have purchased a total of 5 cars from them since 1994. Every purchase has been a great experience. The sales person I had the pleasure of working with on this purchase was Newton Rose. He is the best sales person I have ever bought a car from my entire life of 70 years. He talked with me by telephone first and sent me all the information on the vehicle to include photos. We went to see him the same night and within 3 1/2 hours, my Wife and I drove the new car home. My disabled veteran played were even transferred and placed on the new vehicle. We worked out an agreeable price and I also traded in 2 other Toyota vehicles I bought from there. Mr. Rose spent most of the time going over every part of the vehicle and we test drove it as well. He helped us with downloading the Toyota APP and helped us register it and entered everything needed on the vehicle display. He is very professional, friendly, knowledgable, and outstanding as a car sales person. He is a 100% disabled veteran like my Wife and I are. We even received a $500 rebate because of our service. Received a full tank of gas, a bag of all charging cables needed for charging devices in the vehicle. We also received 2 years of free maintenance coverage as well as a 2 year state inspection registration. We worked the financing part out with Rocky Price, Finance Manager. He was very professional, friendly, knowledgeable as well and made the entire purchase a very pleasant and stress free experience, just like Newton Rose. Robert Gill, The General Manager of Toyota of Killeen, should be very happy and proud to have these two people working there. Their service department also goes an outstanding job on our many visits there over 30 years. I definitely recommend you deal with Newton Rose and Rocky Price when buying a new car there. I definitely recommend Toyota of Killeen as well. Thank...
