True enough, decently constructed plus appealing in design mall. Good anchor stores: Target, Kohls, etc. and finally a decent number of eateries. BUT. As usual, Kingsport TN cannot retain retailers like ex-tenant Old Navy which recently exited the mall and is being replaced by Burkes Outlet. Although this mall has retained it's tenants for well over 7 yrs. it is still a wonder why you don't see bigger crowds throughout the week. Most likely because the diversity of businesses & products or activities offered is not varied enough. It could possibly mall management to lease to some chains offering customers some type of interactive Wii Games venue for families with children or even another business that attracts families. GameStop is nowhere near fulfilling such a role but should remain. Management should also attempt to attract more upscale buyers with stores like Banana Republic, The Limited Express, Abercrombie & Fitch, Talbots, Jos A. Banks, and Coldwater Creek. Attract moderate-priced buyers with stores like Lord & Taylors, Nine West, Dirksons, Von Maurs, etc. Or affordably-priced buyers with stores like Rainbow Shoppe, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Bed Bath & Beyond even. The options are truly ENDLESS if.....IF only mall management would stop thinking with their rear ends and start using the other 20% of their brains to express some ingenuity in marketing the mall to other corporations/retailer's. The fact that their have been several VACANT STORE UNITS for the past 5 or 6 yrs is enough evidence to clearly show BEYOND a doubt that management is indeed doing something gravely wrong and not profiting from the clear advantages they possess with this amount of land (some still under - developed ). Frankly, it is downright appalling, senseless, and ridiculous that Kingsport residents are being TOTALLY cheated by the management of this mall. Being from the northern U.S. I simply find it despicable yet atypical of this region. And a complete atrophic, castrating ordeal to be forced to endure. The nerve of management to force residents to go without a broader and larger choice of retail options. Least across the street ECU Credit Union, East Coast Wings, Jersey Subs, and most recent ALDI's grocery chain have remained. But I am watching for tech store replacement on either side of the street such as 'Sharper Image' (hi-end) - to - Mobile1, Inc. or another Radio Shack (now defunct). Either way there is PLENTY.....PLENTY of available land to build more units for at least 1 large anchor like Lord & Taylors on the far western end and least 2 units between Best Buy & Wendys. And even allow street vendors position outdoor vendor stations outside nearest either end of the parking lot. And allow them to showcase their antique furniture or handmade ethnic items (crocheted purses, jewelry, etc) or handmade artwork. And hold this event at least twice from EARLY SPRING through EARLY FALL season's at a "Pavillion Mall Outdoor Fest & Competition" (i.e., bbq cookout competition, pie/pastry bakeoff competition, best burger competition, you get the idea). Point is make it a darn 'LOCAL TOWN ATTRACTION & DESTINATION' for residents to come to far more often then just weekends (which are...
Read moreThis is actually a really nice shopping center, with a nice variety of stores and restaurants. Target is almost always a nicer experience than a Walmart. Books-a-Million is among the dying breed of physical bookstores remaining. Dollar Tree is tucked in at the end for all your bargain shopping. Freddy's is a great place to eat (especially after they closed the Bristol location).
Unfortunately, they just can't seem to fill all the spots, and to make matters worse, some things have left. Best Buy went to the Pinnacle, leaving a large building that I don't ever see getting filled. I hate to break it to them, but not everyone wants to drive all the way to the Pinnacle. Then there's Which Wich, one of my favorite places to eat, which disappeared suddenly. Though to be fair, they kind of disappeared from everywhere east of Knoxville. Some of the other smaller stores are disappearing.
I think they were supposed to turn the old Crown Builders property into a second phase of the Pavilion, but seeing as they can't fill the first phase, I just don't see it happening. It's just really a shame that it's so difficult to bring stores...
Read moreI used their online ordering system on 11/1/15 and my debit card was charged only to get to the restaurant to find out they were not open for business until the next day. Employees just happened to be there for a training and "soft opening." They could not go ahead and fix my food because they had turned off all of their equipment. I was told I would get a refund. A screenshot was taken of the receipt on my phone. I've not received a refund as of 11/5/15. I filled out their survey attached to my email confirmation of my order on the night this happened and reported all of this. I sent in another report through the online system last night and today multiple attempts to call the restaurant result in a recorded message that says "the number you have dialled is busy. Please try your call again later."
How did their online system go into affect and take orders and money before their restaurant...
