Seattle Kirkland Travel Guide 🌥️ 16 Fun Little Things to Do

I took off two stars because we did not have a great experience. The water conditions were moderate. Not the roughest but not calm. The boats you rent from this place are not big enough to handle the wakes comfortably. I know some could say that this is not the fault of the boat rental company, but to a great degree, it is. These boats, the size of them and their power, are more appropriate for smaller bodies of water where you have less wakes. They do not have enough power to cut through them. They are about as fast as a two person kayak going full speed. Yeah, that slow. Once I discovered how feeble and underpowered they are, knew I should not venture out far from the coast. So I hugged the shore to avoid the rough waters and went north. Once we got to the cove we turned around. We had brought food for a picnic, but the boat kept rocking so much we couldn’t comfortably eat. So even parking and just hanging out wasn’t pleasant. Five years ago, I rented a sporty pontoon boat from waterfront adventures. Took my wife out on a lunch date with it and had a wonderful experience. They no longer rent those, but that is my point of comparison. These electric boats are underpowered, unstable and for the price($300+), disappointing. We returned to the docks an hour before our time was up it was that unpleasant. BUT, they are warm with the wind covers down. Have comfortable seats. We made the best out of it and tried to enjoy ourselves. My 2 year old son enjoyed it, and that saved the experience.

This was the perfect way to enjoy the holiday season with our family! We brought cocoa and cookies and linked our music to the Bluetooth speaker for a super fun festive night. Everyone ages 2-74 was happy, warm, safe, and fully entertained. Our boat was comfortable and decorated, all of the pictures turned out great! The boats don't go very fast at all, you can stay close to the shore and see all of the sparkling lights on the water at night. This was the perfect outing for after our family dinner! Can't wait to do it again next year!

We used Duffy Boats for our wedding day on August 6th after meeting Tanner at a wedding expo at the Tyee Yacht Club we were renting. Tanner took us out on the boat to fully experience it and gave us a pricing pamphlet with their hourly rates for the summer.

After agreeing to a 9 hour rental (2 hours for travel) and receiving a written agreed upon quote (Tanner took credit card information), we were then given a rate that was increased over $100 per hour once Duffy realized that our wedding date coincided with Seafair weekend. This occurred about 30 days prior to our wedding and was very frustrating having met them and being quoted previously. Ultimately we met somewhere in the middle but I would strongly wish we had signed a rental agreement or contract based on the original quote. We ultimately were never required to complete any rental contract for our event.

On the day of, Tanner and his staff were great to deal with. The boat comfortably fit 12 guests and they were on time at each location we had requested. We used the boat for transportation for our wedding part, our first look, and was available to our guests throughout the reception. Everyone was so complimentary of the experience and said they’d never seen a wedding experience quite like that.

We’d happily work with Duffy Boats again as long as pricing is clearly outlined in a...

We had such a great experience with Duffy Boats! Tanner was amazing to work with—super responsive, logical, and incredibly flexible with all my random requests. He was realistic about what could be done, but still made everything happen! We used the boats as a fun networking activity for a business group, and it was a huge hit. Tanner was such a friendly and helpful presence throughout. You could really see the difference in the group—people were more relaxed, talkative, and smiling after the ride. Thanks, Duffy Boats! Hope to work with...
