I'm giving this 2 stars. I would rate my experience 1 star but I like Halo. As a first time visitor I am beyond shocked and super disappointed. I'm searching for a new nail salon to get my nails done at in the area because the previous place I was going to even tho they do an amazing job on nails. They aren't consistent and their rude. Customer service goes a long way with me. So I come across Lake Street nails. I call and made an appointment. I spoke with Halo over the phone. She was super sweet and I couldn't wait to meet her. My appt was today and she was nice enough to move me to a later time since I was busy today.
I noticed that the shop is super clean and all the ladies are sweet. I already had nails on from my previous shop and they were gel x. I asked for a new set so I assumed the old nails were gonna be removed. Instead Halo applied acrylic on to my current nails which was no problem. I wanted the cat eye look with a few rhinestones. A baby blue color with pink. I showed her the photo of the design I wanted. My appt started at 5pm.....I was there at the shop until almost 8pm. I've gotten my nails done for years and I believe in quality but I've never had anyone mess up my nails until today. She used a new polish on my nails and for some reason the polish wouldn't dry and I asked her why did she use this nail polish when she could've used the one that she normally uses on clients. My nails look clumpy and should she kept trying to fix the issue the nails just don't look good and it looks nothing like what I asked for. Very sloppy and not a clean look. I kept trying to give Halo the benefit of the doubt but I stopped the session asked her if she could clean off the nail polish I had on my fingers and my hands. I washed my hands and wanted to leave.
She offered to redo my nails but this was a terrible experience for me and I refused. This wasn't the way I wanted to end my Easter.
First time impressions for me are everything. Great customer service at Lake Street but unfortunately I won't be back to get my nails done. Maybe for a pedicure and to get my eyebrows done but definitely not...
Read moreIm new to the area and I’m trying different nail salons until I can find one I like. I asked the person who did my nails to remove my previous manicure in a different way that she usually does because my skin is very sensitive. She said that she has lots of clients everyday including white women that probably were more sensitive than me and that no one has complained before..! She didn’t believe me until she saw that my skin started turning red and the drill was hurting me.. So, do I need to be white to have a sensitive skin? I also got some cuts on my cuticle due to the drill.
The other bad experience I had was that I asked for dip powder, but the top coat never dried (They just offer gel as the top coat, even tho I asked her before because I don’t like to use gel). Since my manicure never dried I had to go back the next day to get them fixed, and I had to get gel as the top coat (something I was avoiding to do). In the end, it was a total disaster and super unprofessional, not happy at all...
Read moreI used to be a client of Jennifer's Nails in Bellevue for years and about a year ago I stopped going to them because their service and cleanliness not to mention friendliness went down the drain! I've been searching for a new place to replace Jennifer's for over a year and I swear have tried just about every salon until I came across Lake Street Nail Bar. Gloria was fantastic and made sure the shape and cut of my nails was exactly as I asked. My nails look fake even though they're my real nails! I will definitely be back! I think I've found my new spot! I love how the salon is small and intimate. It's nothing fancy but it's quick in and out and that's what I look for as well as great cuticle care and polish. Only thing I'd say is I wish they also gave shoulder massages but I can live without it. Thanks so much for the great service and great...
