Got a haircut, it was fine. They asked when to schedule my next cut as all baber shops do, I casually say 6 weeks. I don't think about it again... Today I'm charged $21.
Here we are 6 weeks later. I've had unexpected life circumstances happen this weekend and am unable to make the appointment that I'd forgotten about. I got a text yesterday to confirm, I didn't see it and didn't confirm. I get a missed call today because just to reiterate I'm unavailable due to unexpected life circumstances. This call came 8 minutes after I was scheduled. They say in the voicemail they were checking on my whereabouts, stating they can only hold my appointment for 10 minutes after I was scheduled. Later I get charged $21. I will never be back and I will never stop warning everyone I know about this horrible experience.
If someone doesn't confirm their appointment, that should warrant at a minimum additional follow-up. Lacking that, they should be assumed to be canceled - not confirmed.
If you actually care about people making appointments, you need to call giving them enough time to actually have a chance of arriving - 2 minutes before the appointment is canceled is a waste of everyone's time because it will never result in a customer making it that would otherwise have not made it so why bother.
If you want to make a significant missed appointment fee, do not casually ask when to schedule your next appointment. Ask if they would like to schedule an appointment, warn them of the fee, then proceed ONLY IF the customer agrees. Then ask them for their method of payment for the appointment in the event of a missed appointment.
It should be (and probably is) illegal to hold a customer's payment information on file without their expressed written consent. I gave my card that day to pay for that days service ONLY. I did not agree to haircuts as a service.
I will be disputing this charge. Everyone loses. This goes down as one of the worst business practices I've ever seen. I expect Rudy's will soon be hit with a large class action lawsuit if they do not make a serious and prompt adjustment to the way they do business. Regardless, they will never see another...
Read moreI’ve been seeing for Renato for 3 years now, both at the Bellevue location and now in Totem Lake. My wedding was a couple months ago during the Bellevue closure fiasco and there is no one else I would trust to get me ready for my big day other than Renato and even during all of that uncertainty, Renato squeezed me in and has continually gone above and beyond for me since I first sat in his chair. Renato - you are truly one of a kind and at this point, getting my haircut is almost secondary and catching up is always my favorite part of getting my haircut with you. For anyone reading this, Renato is as skilled as they come and he’s one of those hair stylists that you go to for as long as you can because he’ll always take amazing...
Read moreWhile Rudy's is a PNW institution, there are several things that make it great. No.1 it's amazing stylists and customer service. Renato has been doing my hair for probably 10+ years, I have followed him across shops, he's been part of very important times of my life and honestly between his true mastery of his craft and Rudy's creating a space for it is the perfect combo. I do want state that Rudy's was also the first place I ever saw the concept of a cut... not a "women's long haircut" and a "man's short hair cut" but a cut...its hair...everybody gets cut, short, long, cut. Thank you Renato for being awesome! You have been able to cut my long hair, short hair, helped me donate hair, buzz cut it, saved terrible...
