In reponse to MVH’s below comment, I already told Mark that I will not remove my reviews as I want to warn other renters. There’s a reason you don’t have many negative reviews and it’s because you will only make things right with the guests if they remove their reviews, is that legal?! You can say everything was working all you want but do you think i called in issues every day for the fun of it?
Update: Spoke with manager and they offered to remove pool heat and the erroneous charge for the game that was broken on our arrival only if we remove our negative reviews. I will not be doing that as we were charged unjustly for pool heat that did not work 80% of the time and a game that we reported as broken within 24 hours of arrival. They should remove those charges based on fact, regardless of whether or not we remove our reviews. This goes to show why only positive reviews are posted.
Happy to provide screen shots to anyone that would like an authentic review of their experience. We called in at least 2+ issues per day for the first 4 days of our stay. The pool and spa heat did not work, there was no filter attached to the bottom of the spa, there were no directionals on the blowers and the water would randomly drain out of the spa. In addition the knob for the timer was broken and there was an error that the tech needed to fix. When I spoke to the manager Mark this week, he stated that the entire system was being checked- why would that happen if it was working correctly? Also we paid for damage insurance but were still charged for a broken game that we did not break and reported it within 24 hours as soon as we discovered it. These are only the main issues, there were many more.
The rep I worked with in the very beginning was great. Unfortunately the home itself and our stay were less than magical. Magical Views at Reunion Resort was the worst rental home I have stayed in. Home was not welcoming, no decor, stained furniture, bed frames that didn’t fit the mattresses, broken outdoor furniture etc. Listing states that the annex house had 2br but only had 1, hot tub and pool heat didn't work correctly and had to call four days in row to have a tech out, the game room had an arcade game with a completely smashed screen and shards of glass on the console and floor. This leads me to believe that no one comes and checks out the rentals when guests leave. Two gaming consoles and 4 remotes but only one non working remote charger. gas grill didn't work and had to have a tech fix the connection. Pool furniture broken and stained. Couldn’t get the TV systems to work and there was no physical guest book to explain how to use anything. Mandatory $350 fee for reunion resort amenities. When we went to pick up our wrist bands the front desk said our house didn't qualify so we had to spend a day straightening that out. When we went back for the second time to get the bands we were told we were the 4th family that day who had issues with homes they rented through MVH not having wristband access. Nightmare. They also told us we shouldn’t have even rented through MVH and should have rented directly through the resort. Hot water didn't work in first floor bathroom sink. We had 14 registered guests and there was only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Kitchen was bare bones. Listing shows fire pit however at the house it shows only the owner can use it. We have rented A LOT of homes throughout the years and my occupation is in the hospitality industry and I have never experienced anything like this. Awful awful awful. Today is Tuesday and I've been waiting for a manager to call me back since Thursday. Should have been an amazing home (based off the pics) but failed in so many ways. Too many issues to list them all.
The care team that we contacted throughout the week to report problems was helpful and responsive. Yes, they did come out and fix the issues when we reported them but I don’t want to spend the first four days of my 5 day vacation calling in multiple...
Read moreWorst rental experience we have ever had. We arrived and no games/flight simulators or TVs work. Management sends me a checklist showing them “powered on” that does not mean that you can watch content on them just because they turn on. A couple Fridges did not work, ruined our food we bought. They came the next day while we were gone, and just left an industrial fridge in the dining room and plugged it in. Then unplugged the one fridge that had a broken freezer only, and let our food spoil that was in the fridge area, again. TVs still did not play content and flight simulators still broken, the entire stay.
The hot water in the shower is either scolding hot, or freezing cold, no hot water in the kitchen works at all. The pool table is old and beat up, crooked, it is unplayable on unless you have toddlers who just want to throw the balls around.
Call about pool heat, and they claim it is 350 bucks extra. I ask them why it isn’t complimentary at this point when nothing else here works. They say they can’t help me. Even though I was about to book a house for the second leg of my stay 2 weeks ago and they offered it to me for free before I even booked because they advertised a fireplace when it was not able to be used for guests.
Golfing was a bad experience as well, the guy who works the starts, saw us load up only two bags for 4 people, we were sharing clubs. He even asked if we had rentals and we said no, we are sharing. He then let us go to number one, tee off, then comes running in with “members” like the Calvary to pull us off the course, embarrass us, and make us rent clubs and re-start our round. Total joke, tell us before we leave, not make a big show and make us feel small because some members think they are better than guests?
I tell them to do the heat. But we have multiple families here and I can’t change my friends card on file. So I say to wait until I ask him and they go and charge my friends card 400 not 350 for heat. Then they do not answer me. No manager is available to handle anything or fix anything. This is the worst run place ever.
They also go and tell me pre checks were done on all the TVs and games by their team. Funny somehow it all broke between when they checked on Friday until we arrived on Friday. I have asked over and over to speak to a manager and I am told I can’t. Avoid this place at all costs! A manager called me on Monday, I am still busy trying to salvage my vacation and do not have time to argue with a company who doesn’t care about guests. Funnel people in and out and quote lame policies over and over, read all the policies if you book they protect the company from being liable for anything they do.
I would never rent a house here again, their policies and desire to turn dollars over guest happiness is no way to run a place I ever want to go to. People don’t mind shelling out money for vacations, but when you get dime store service for platinum prices, your money is better spent elsewhere.
And management, if you wish to contact me, you have my email address, send me an email and I’ll speak to you again on my time. I am salvaging the rest of my trip to Orlando in a home off Airbnb that costs less and offers excellent service and guest...
Read moreWe booked a house through Magical Vacation Homes website for March 18th-March 23rd, where the company showed pictures of the property in great detail, al amenities such as pool area equipment, grill for cooking outside, and extensive game room, as well as describing their cleanliness protocols, stating the property would be thoroughly cleaned right before our arrival due to the pandemic. When we arrived at the property it did not look like the pictures in terms of the condition at all and we were left very disappointed and felt we had been deceived. The outdoor sitting area was covered in cobwebs and filth. There was mold all over the table and chairs as well as the outdoor benches. The canopied sitting bench was broken and the canopy top was covered in mold and material torn in holes. My children have mold allergies so we could not even spend time in this area due to this issue. There was a toilet that had the sanitizer strip over it but when we opened it, it had urine all over the rim and in the toilet. The grill was completely covered in a filthy residue of food, grease and rust, and therefore was inoperable. There were ants all over the kitchen. There were games in the game room that did not even have cords or plugs to make them work, where in the pictures all the games are lit up and working. One game pictured on the website had balls and pins, on-site there were none to actually play the game. The gaming system controller charging station that was present did not match the gaming system on-site, therefore the controllers could not even be charged to play the games. The air conditioning system did not work in the game room. We called the management company the day we arrived, spoke to someone and they said the manger would call us back, we did not receive a call back that day. We called again the next day and spoke to the assistant manger who then sent a maintenance person to assess the issues. He agreed with us and said it was unacceptable and he would have the management call us. We never received a call. We called again each day of our stay and each time were told the manager was busy and he would call us back. We were never called back at any time during our stay. Once we got home we called the office 3 more times, each time someone stated the manager would get back to us and then we were never called back. At no time did the management company ever return our numerous phone calls regarding the property during our stay nor after we returned. The comment below by Magical Vacation is not accurate. Nothing was resolved. They insisted we sign a NDA and remove all reviews before they would give us a small credit or a discount on a future stay. Which we have...
