I cam here today with my cousin and younger brother, we were anticipating its opening for a while and most sushi places that are decent are fairly far away.
After ordering the hibachi NY strip steak, miso soup, and some salmon avacado rolls, I couldn't be happier with the fact I have this place right next door. The steak was very tender and juicy, and I got it exactly as I wanted, medium rare. Most times I ask and it ends up being a bit too well done or undercooked. The veggies had tons of flavor to boot.
Mizu's often has fairly 'salty' miso soup. Not this time, here at Sashimi's it was juuust right, it wasn't an over powering element that made me take my time with my soup or leave it partially unfinished.
The sushi and avocado were very fresh. If I had more time to stay, I would have happily had more varieties to sample.
Their hostess was also very attentive, reading our order back, checking on us to see if everything was good, and offering water refills.
Our service was quick, and I figure it's due to the low amount of traffic coming in, but I would enjoy seeing this spot grow. The indoor atmosphere is very inviting and I'd hate to see this place be criminally neglected shortly after their...
Read moreI want to start by highlighting the amazing service we received from the hostess — a young woman dressed in black, incredibly kind, professional, and full of positive energy. She truly made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.
Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by a disturbing incident. A man — apparently from the kitchen staff, also dressed in black — stormed out yelling aggressively, behaving in an extremely rude and inappropriate manner. Shockingly, he directed his outburst at the same hostess who was doing a wonderful job.
His behavior was so disruptive that we are seriously considering legal action for disturbing the peace. This kind of aggression has no place in any public establishment, especially towards employees who are simply doing their job with excellence.
The hostess deserves praise and recognition. The man from the kitchen should be held accountable, and the restaurant must take immediate action. If not, they risk much more serious...
Read moreWhat can I say? I’ve been going back to this place over and over for sushi and ramen—and honestly, my God, it’s so damn good. Like, if loving Davenport Sashimi Fusion is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
Every bite is like a warm hug from a sushi chef who just gets you. The sushi? Fresh. Flavorful. Basically edible art that makes your taste buds do a happy dance. The ramen? Soul-soothing. Like a bowl of comfort that says, “Hey, everything’s gonna be okay—slurp me slowly and feel feelings again.”
The staff are always so kind and welcoming, it’s like walking into your foodie best friend’s house (if your friend happened to be a culinary wizard with a wasabi wand). Whether I’m dining in, picking up takeout, or just pretending I “accidentally” drove by again for the fifth time this week—they always make me feel like part of the family.
Davenport Sashimi Fusion, you’re my go-to, my serotonin boost, my spicy tuna soulmate. Never change. (Except maybe longer hours, because my cravings...
